From Dr. Martin.... From Dr. Martin....

Dear LISD Families,

I hope you all enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving weekend.

Our Lobo Pep Band and MPPACT performed at the village lighting ceremony last Friday. Kudos to all the musicians and vocalists, and to Naomi and Jesse for preparing students to perform in front of a festive crowd. Speaking of music, be sure to mark your calendars for Winter Arts Night on December 10. There will be musical performances from 4th-6th graders and secondary students taking music classes this semester. Our art teacher, Jaimie, will also be displaying semester 1 art pieces completed by secondary students. I love this event and hope to see you there.

We have just three weeks of school left in the semester. For secondary students, Friday, December 19 is the end of semester 1. Semester grades are final. Failing grades can mean that a student has to take a class over again in order to meet a graduation requirement, and/or a student is ineligible for sports competition for six weeks into the spring semester. We want all students to finish strong and feel accomplished. You can help by checking your student's grades in Canvas (let us know if you need help with that), asking them questions about assignments and assessments, and supporting them in completing assignments at home.

Have a fantastic week!

All my best,

Martha
