CELC News & Updates

Hello Creekside Families,

I hope that everyone had a fabulous weekend. Our family weekends have become a little more exciting with things starting to open up. This weekend we enjoyed watching our daughter play softball and sing a solo at church.

Thank you to those who filled out the enrollment survey. We are using the data to help plan the 2021-22 school year. Thank you to Claudia Sanchez for the generous donation of pallets of water to AUSD sites. We are also excited that the District begin installing water bottle filling stations on each campus. All of this good news is right in time for the warmer weather that is on the way.

Weekly Reminders and Updates:

A big, warm welcome to our newest team member, Raul Perez. He officially joined our DL Preschool team on Thursday, April 23.
Online registration is open. CELC is hosting Virtual Registration Round Ups to help incoming parents with the registration process and answer any questions about our school and our programs. Please spread the word if you know any families with incoming Cubs. See flyer and link below.
PTA needs your support. Please consider purchasing a PTA membership. They also have CELC t-shirts available for purchase.
Mark your calendars. The teachers are busy planning in-person promotion ceremonies for our kindergarteners. We will be hosting five different ceremonies over three days. All planning and preparation will be under COVID-19 guidelines. Please be patient as we work through the details. We do know that attendees will be limited! See the schedule below.
Join us the week of May 3 in celebrating our amazing staff. See the flyer below for ideas to bring each day.
Please report all absences to the office. We are required to trace all absences. Illnesses may require an extended stay at home.
AUSD continues to serve food during our 4-Day Schedule on Mondays from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at JMMS. If that time doesn't work for you, there is also a 5:00 pm pick up.
Child Nutrition Services offers snack pick up for students at CELC during pick up times on Mondays. The grab and go snack bag will contain 5 days worth of snacks. This is available to all students 18 and under.

The district is still providing free wifi access at CELC, SHES, JMMS, and BOES. Just park in the lot and log in. The wifi name is AlpineUnited and no password is needed.
The district has tech support available to parents. Please email helpdesk@alpineschools.net with your technology questions.

We Are Hiring

If you, or any of your friends/family, love kids and are looking for part time work, please share our postings. We have a couple of positions on our site as well as on other campuses. Please visit https://www.edjoin.org/alpineschools. Creekside is currently looking for two student supervisors. Please send friendly, qualified candidates our way!

The district would like to increase the number of substitute teachers in our pool. The pay has increased to $200 dollars a day. Please help spread the word. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call Mrs. Ripke.

Wish List

Thank you to those who have already donated. We appreciate it so much!. We continue to increase our inventory of recess equipment and other supplies to accommodate larger groups of students. If you are willing and able to donate, please consider buying something from our wish list. Items we are most in need/want at this time are: Nerf footballs, bouncy balls, soccer balls, Flying Turtles, and catch a ball sets. Please feel free to share our wish list if you know of anyone in your family or community members that may want to help.

Virtual Fun Fridays

To help foster school spirit and stay connected, the Alpine Union School District will post Virtual Fun Friday Spirit Days. Postings will be on the AUSD Facebook and Instagram Pages. If you are not already following us on FB or IG, please join us! We hope that you will all participate and post pictures on social media using the hashtags provided. Action for Happiness calendars are packed with actions you can take to help create a happier and kinder world. Take a look at the April Calendar. Keeping active is a great way to boost our mental wellbeing. So this month Action for Happiness is encouraging everyone to get moving and get outdoors as much as possible. Whatever your circumstances or physical limitations, you can find your own ways to be a bit more active. We don't need to run marathons - there are simple things we can all do to take care of our bodies, like unplugging from technology, reconnecting with nature and getting more sleep! Join CELC in staying active and healthy this month!
