MP3 WK9 MP3 WK9

Greetings Roadrunner Community! Happy Week 9! MP3 comes to an end this week, and we have several activities going on to celebrate! Please read below for more updates.

Online Registration Opens Monday

Online Registration for all returning students opens at midnight. Please help us by completing your registration for the 2025-2026 school year. Completing the registration process will allow us to create our class schedules for the upcoming school year. This will minimize disruptions created by having to overflow students based on capacity. If you need assistance, please stop by the campus. We will have laptops available for all families wishing to complete the process.

MP3 Checkpoints

All students will be taking their MP3 Checkpoints this week. These assessments allow us to retrieve data connected to learning during the last 9 weeks. We ask that you please ensure that your students are in attendance all week for the tests. Thank you!

Spring Intersession Camps

Spring Intersession Camps begin next week! Students invited to the camps should have returned their orange permission slips to their teachers for scheduling purposes. Classes will be from Monday, March 10 through Thursday, March 13. All participants will be provided with both breakfast and lunch. Transportation will also be provided to all qualifying students. For questions or concerns, please contact your child's teacher.

ESL Academies

In addition to our Spring Intersession Camps, we will also be hosting our ESL Academies. Students recommended to attend received an invitation with a permission slip. Classes will run from Monday, March 10, through Thursday, March 13. Classes will be from 8:00am-2:30pm. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all participants. Transportation will not be available to students in the ESL Academy.

Read Across America Week

We will be celebrating Read Across America this week with daily dress up activities. Please refer to the calendar above for more information.

SISD Community Meetings

We invite all of our Roadrunner Family to join us on Wednesday, March 5, at Socorro High School, at 6:00pm, for a community meeting. Participants are encouraged to share their vision for the district and what qualities stakeholders want in our next Superintendent. Board Members and Acting Superintendent Mr. Vasquez will be available for questions. We hope to see you there!

Jump Rope for Heart

We invite the community to join us on Thursday for our Annual Jump Rope for Heart event. Families will be invited to jump rope with their students for the health event. Please review the flyer above for your child's P.E. time.

Transfer Window Open

The transfer window for all students is open now. Transfers will be accepted for the 2025-2026 school year. This applies to students who live outside of the Rojas boundary lines interested in continuing at the campus. Failure to submit a transfer request in a timely manner will result in your student returning to their home campus. For more information, please contact Ms. Marquez or our PEIMS Specialist, Mrs. Solano.

In addition to our perfect attendance initiative, we will resume with our morning Bingo Game to reduce tardies. Students must be on time to participate. Prizes will be awarded as students achieve Bingo on the Bingo cards.

Attendance Matters Attendance Matters

We will be targeting our attendance rate this year to ensure that our students are in class everyday learning and growing. Absences not only affect a child's education, but it can also impact their social emotional needs. Absences also impact district funding resulting in a loss of programs and personnel.

Our campus goal is 97%, and we know that we achieve this goal together. Students have been provided with an attendance tracker to help keep track of their own attendance throughout the year. Weekly, monthly and quarterly incentives will be provided to all students with perfect attendance. Please note that illnesses and emergencies will be excused with the proper documentation. Notes may be emailed to attendancerojas@sisd.net. For extenuating circumstances, please contact Mrs. Baez, Attendance Administrator, at (915) 937-8500.

2024-2025 Dismissal Procedures 2024-2025 Dismissal Procedures

Our campus has two dismissal times for different grade levels. This is to help ease the traffic congestion that would build up if we had all students dismissing at the same time. We ask that you adhere to the dismissal procedures in order to ensure that we have a quick, efficient and SAFE dismissal for all. As a reference for all parents, our dismissal takes exactly 15 minutes from the time the dismissal bell rings until the last student is loaded. Please review the procedures below.

Bauman Road Holding Zone

PreK and Kinder students will be allowed to form a line on the dirt road closest to the street for the 2:45pm dismissal. Early bird parents waiting for the 3:15pm pickup may form a second line next to the PK and Kinder Vehicles.

The second line should begin after Anaheim Ln to ensure that there is enough room for all vehicles. After the 2:45pm pickup line is allowed to enter into the parking lot, early arrivers may move into the lane to begin forming the 3:15pm line. Please review pictures.

Pick Up Cards

All vehicles using the pick up zone will need to have their student pick up card displayed in the window. Once your child is in the vehicle, please remove the card from the window, so we know you are ready to exit.

Drive Up Procedures

As you drive up to the student area, we ask that you remain in your vehicle. School staff is available to help load students into cars. Do not leave your vehicle unattended. Once your child is loaded, you may exit your vehicle to help buckle in your student. Staff will not secure any seatbelts for liability purposes. Once your child is securely strapped in, we ask that you exit the parking lot.

No Parking

Parents will not be allowed to park inside the parking lot during dismissal times. We are seeing an increased number of vehicles parking in the parking lot and cutting in front of other vehicles. This is not allowed out of fairness to everyone. We have timed our procedures and it takes five minutes from the time a vehicle enters the parking lot, to the time we load students. Please help us keep the system running efficiently. Please note that the fire department conducts random inspections to ensure that the area is safe. Violators will be cited.

Interested in Becoming a Volunteer? Interested in Becoming a Volunteer?

Are you interested in serving your community as a volunteer? We are currently receiving applications for parent volunteers. Your assistance is vital to the success of the campus. Parents may assist in a variety of ways. Please note that volunteer hours are REQUIRED for any parent who may be invited to class field trips. All volunteers are required to complete a background check to begin volunteering at the campus. Please contact Mrs. Cristina Hernandez, Parent Liaison, if you are interested in helping with any of our current projects.
