Crotchet Mountain Fundraiser Reveal...

A huge thank you needs to be shared for the PTO and President, Tanisha Lowell, for representing Pierce School at the Crotchet Mountain Yard Sale back on September 30th! In collaboration with CM Ski Area, $509 was raised for our school. Thank you for bringing baked goods and taking the time to spend your day, helping our school become the best place it can be, one baked goodie at a time! The Mountain donated a chair lift for auction as well and they donated the proceeds to our school, so a huge thank you is owed to Crotchet Mountain, the PTO, and Tanisha Lowell for all of their support! Well done!

Fire Safety Day, 10/13

Students were able to take a walking field trip to the Bennington Fire Department today and get an opportunity to learn all about the town fire department, house fire prevention, and how to be safe in the event of a fire emergency. Students came home with hats and other goodies. We want to thank the Bennington Fire Department for their wonderful service today, the presentation, and for taking the time to make Pierce School students know they care! Thank you!

Have a wonderful weekend...

We want to take the opportunity to thank families for their ongoing support as we continue to help students adjust to good school routines, like getting enough sleep, eating breakfast, having enough snacks throughout the day to keep focused, and helping students understand how to be a learner. We encourage asking your student what the best parts of their day were. We also recommend reading with your student after dinner or at bedtime to encourage learning to read and reading to learn.

Here are five techniques that work:

  1. Encourage. Let your child know you believe education is important...
  2. Model. Let your child see you learn...
  3. Reinforce. Praise your child for learning and working hard...
  4. Instruct. Work with your child on projects at home...
  5. Celebrate your child's success. Serve your child's favorite food for dinner.
