SENSEMUSE IN A NUTSHELL
๐SENSEMUSE is a transnational initiative designed to assist cultural professionals to attract their audiences, including those who are vulnerable and disabled.
๐By developing the right skills mix for adults working in the heritage sector, SENSEMUSE aspires to lead heritage workers in design and delivering memorable and engaging experiences at places of cultural significance.
๐New competences in accessibility, inclusion, and audience engagement will be certified via micro-certifications, and achieved results will be replicated at EU level.
๐By establishing long-term cooperation between cultural institutions, experts, and stakeholders, achieved results are replicated across the EU.
Cultural Heritage Sigificance
How to assess the significance of heritage and how can I convey it to my audiences? Heritage is a non-renewable resource. Once destroyed, it cannot be recovered. Recognizing its significance creates a moral obligation to act as custodians on behalf of future generations. Heritage significance is the foundation upon which decisions about what to protect, why, and for whom are made โ ensuring that the richness of human experience is not lost to time.
A Universal Right
Access to culture is a universal right. Accessibility to cultural heritage is not only about infrastructure but also the development of cognitive, emotional, digital, and inclusive opportunities to include and engage the audience. By creating the conditions in which the needs of different and diverse audiencesโincluding persons with disabilities and vulnerable audiences- are met, the prerequisite to appreciate heritage is established.
Transformative Culture
Assisting the audience to "transform" means to create the enabling environment to perceive why cultural heritage mattersโand why it deserves to be preserved, studied, and celebrated. Follow the 7-step-process to design and deliver transformative visitor experiences.
"If it is not a transformation, then it is not an experience."
