Empowered by Elevate

Welcome to the September 2025 Edition of Empowered by Elevate !
We’re excited to bring you the latest updates, stories, and highlights from Central through Elevate. This newsletter is your inside look at the ways we are empowering students, building community, and inspiring growth.

Each month, we’ll share what’s new, spotlight what matters most, and offer a word of encouragement as we continue this journey together—celebrating progress, big and small, along the way.

With gratitude,
Mr. Mario Cooper
Executive Director

Elevate West Alabama’s model was designed to be relational and holistic, with a full-circle mission. Our objective is to build long-term, life-changing relationships that equip students to thrive and give back to their community.

A core part of our program, Little Elevate, gives students the opportunity to invest in their community through cross-age mentoring. Research shows this type of mentoring increases social connectedness, self-esteem, and academic achievement.

In this video, you will hear from Mr. Sam Crawford and one of our second-year students, Jimmy. He shares how both Little Elevate and a recent college visit have impacted him personally. His story is a reminder of why your support matters so much—we cannot do this alone.

Jimmy’s story is just one example of the life-changing impact Elevate West Alabama is having on students and our community. But we can’t do this work alone.

Your investment helps us continue building relationships, providing opportunities, and empowering the next generation to thrive and give back.

We are grateful for your continued encouragement and cannot wait to share more good news throughout the year. Together, we are building stronger connections and brighter futures for every student we serve.
