PJHS Parent Weekly

Hello PJHS Families,

This past week was off to a great start. Students are becoming more acclimated to their schedules, classes, and expectations for PJHS.

We had concluded our safety lockdown drill successfully this week with the Peotone police department.

Map Testing is complete (with the exception of a few make-ups for students in some classes).

We are asking that students wear Red, White, and Blue on Thursday, in observance of September 11th.

Friday, September 12th will be an early release day for students with a dismissal time of 12:00 (noon). Just a reminder that students will not have a lunch period this day, so lunch will not be served.

If you are interested in your child taking an educational trip to Italy and Greece, please attend the informational meeting on September 17th at 6:30p.m. in the PJHS library to hear more details.

If you were not able to attend last week's open house at PJHS, please see the attached presentation for any information that was shared to parents/guardians that evening.

Please look over the student handbook for all policies and procedures for Peotone Junior High.

Please refer to the Chromebook policy for PJHS students. Please also try and remind your child to charge his/her Chromebook everyday to limit infractions of the policy.

  We'll have an online store this year that will be accessible from our linktree along with a QR code on the paper flyer. Order deadline is Sept 16th and Pick up will be Sept 25th.

Our first meeting of the school year will be Monday, September 8th at 6pm at PES. All are welcome - there will be a google meet link for those who may not be able to attend in-person.

Ofc. Stankus would like to remind everyone that you must be at least 18 years of age to operate an electric powered scooter in the Village of Peotone.

The Peotone Historical Society will be holding their 23rd annual Old Mill Fall Fest on Saturday, September 20th from 4-9pm in the big tent. Also, there will be civil war camp, crafts with different vendors, food and games on Sunday, September 21st from 11am-4pm. They are looking for the community to come and join in the fun!

If you are dropping off any items for your child:

• The exterior door closest to the buzzer will be unlocked. You may enter using this door without needing to be buzzed in.
• There is a table set up on the right to place items being dropped off for your child. Please write their first and last name, and grade level on a sticky note and leave the item on the table.

If you are entering the building for any reason during the school day, you will need your ID to scan in through our Raptor system.
