Your patience is appreciated! Final grades for the first marking period will be posted and viewable to both students and parents on Friday, October 24th. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
AGS Student Spotlight
The 8th Grade Band joined the High School Band for an exciting collaboration at last Friday's football game, and they absolutely knocked it out of the park! The energy and sound created by both groups joining forces was fantastic and made the night a huge success. What a wonderful job by our middle school musicians—it was a lot of fun to watch and hear!
Professional Storyteller Visits AGS
We are grateful to the Fenton Arts and Cultural Commission for bringing a unique storytelling experience to AGS! About 100 students participated in this engaging activity during an SRT session, where a professional storyteller, Bil Lepp, captivated the audience with a dynamic performance that highlighted the power of imagination and the art of storytelling.
You can visit Bil Lepp's website by clicking on the link: https://www.leppstorytelling.com/
After-School Tutoring (AST)
AST will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays directly after school in the media center and will end at 3:15 with bus pickup scheduled for 3:25 PM. A completed permission slip is required for students to stay for AST. The permission slip is a Google Form that parents must fill out. Click the button below to access the permission slip!
Halloween Spirit Day
We are looking forward to a little Halloween Spirit at AGS. Students that don't wish to wear a costume are encouraged to wear Halloween T Shirts, socks, etc. We appreciate your assistance in making sure that costumes are school appropriate. Guidelines for appropriate dress/costumes were developed by student leaders in coordination with AGS Administration. The guidelines are outlined below:
- No Masks
- No props, accessories, fake weapons
- No lights or noise makers
- No fake blood or gore
- No inflatable costumes (must be able to sit in a desk LOL)
- Makeup/hair dye/spray must be done at home
To help us celebrate, we'd be incredibly grateful for donations of bags of individually wrapped candy. Any kind is welcome! Please send your candy donations in with your student anytime between now and October 30. Thank you for helping us make this a fun and memorable day!

Counselors' Corner
Mrs. Miller will be running a SRT session, What is Mental Health?- In this session, students will explore the fundamental concept of mental health and why it is essential for overall well-being. They will learn what mental health means, including emotional, psychological, and social aspects that affect how we think, feel, and behave. The session will also cover common factors that influence mental health, such as stress, relationships, and lifestyle, and discuss the importance of seeking help and supporting others. By the end, students will gain a better understanding of mental health as a vital part of life and how to foster a positive mental state for themselves and those around them.
6th Grade- 10/16/2025
7th Grade- 10/21/2025
8th Grade- 10/23/2025
Upcoming meetings -
- Leadership Council will meet during the SRT session on Tuesday, 10/28. New members are welcome to join from all grades.
- Harry Potter Club will meet during the SRT session on Thursday, 10/30. New members are welcome to join from all grades.
Career Development Update:
During the month of October, 8th graders started the process of developing their Educational Development Plans (EDP). EDPs are updated annually in grades 8-12 as an opportunity for students to develop and refine their postsecondary plans for employment. Our 8th graders explored how their interests match with specific careers and then spent time researching the various aspects of their career matches, including: core tasks, workplace, earnings, education requirements and future demand.
During October and November, AGS 6th and 7th graders will participate in an introduction to career preparation lesson by exploring careers that match their interests. Our 7th graders will take this a step further by attempting to create a monthly budget that stays within the entry level salary of their favorite career choice. This is always a challenge (even for adults), but offers students a great opportunity to decide if their chosen career will meet their needs and lifestyle expectations.
During SRT students have been given the choice to participate in fun career development activities, such as Career Bingo, Pictionary and Escape the Career Fair.

A Note From Your PTO
The AGS PTO is run by parent volunteers, and your support—whether it's your time, knowledge, helping hands, or a donation—is essential for a successful school year full of exciting events!
This year, we are hoping to establish Parent Representatives for each grade, especially for 6th graders, to help coordinate volunteers and be a point of contact. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to learn and help out! If you're interested in volunteering in any way, please fill out this quick form: https://forms.gle/1y3CuJ96L4WCsx5o6 Thank you, Go Tigers!
Socktober 2025
AGS is proudly participating in Socktober! From now until the end of October, we're collecting donations to support those in need. You can find collection boxes throughout the school, and we kindly ask all students to bring in items to contribute. Together, we can make a difference! Thank you for your support. Please send any donations in by Friday, October 31!
