Academy Announcements
Dear Academy Families and Friends,
The school year is on the move. The weather is starting to shift into the fall we are all familiar with and the learning really starts to pick up once the routines are set for the new year.
We've seen so many classrooms already earn 50...100...even over 150 praise paws for all the great things they are doing, all while elevating the Academy school climate. When your child comes home with a praise paw, be sure to ask them specifically what they did to earn them. They are doing great things, and with great things, comes great classroom rewards.
Other important notes:
- Bus evacuation takes place on Tuesday. Please make sure they dress for
- Kindergarten's color days was a splash of colors and so adorable!!! What will they think of next. Pretty soon they will be learning all about the farm and the fall in New England.
- Last Thursday, our AAPC had a great turnout for the first meeting of the year. Have a great idea for an event? Want to help run an activity, please reach out to them, they are always looking for ways to help the school grow!
- Grade 5 will be going to WHS on October 2 on a field trip to the Planetarium. Permission slips need to be be returned asap.
- Parking at on the Top Lot at Academy has been going well. The top lot is open every morning until 9am, so please get there on time. It's safe and easy to use, making the trek to the school simple on those tough weather days. Be sure to pull up to the yellow line and close to the car in front of you to conserve space. On rainy days, we get an influx of cars, so please keep it tight.
- If you chose to park on our side streets, please help us be good neighbors by upholding the no parking zones on the posted street signs. They are clearly marked and posted for the safety of our walkers and neighbors.
- Chromebooks are all passed out in Grades 1-5 and K ipads will be assigned this week. Please check/update the Chrome OS from time to time to make sure they are operating at their top performance level. Just go to Settings>>About Chrome OS>>Check for Updates.
- Students should be on time every day. If your child is late, please do not drop them off and leave, they need to be checked in to the office. There is a QR code that parents need to scan the late child enters the building.
Have a great rest of your weekend. We look forward to seeing you bright and early tomorrow!
Mr. Higgins
