Register to Vote Register to Vote

Hello CHS Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors,

In 2023, Governor Whitmer signed House Bill 4569 into law, which allows future Michigan voters to pre-register to vote when they turn 16 years old. This pre-registration enables eligible voters to vote as soon as they turn 18. To use this pre-registration process, a person must be at least 16 years old but not older than 17 and-a-half years old. If you pre-register, you can participate in early in-person or absentee voting for an election as long as you will be 18 on or before the date of the election. Those eligible to vote who are already older than 17.5 years old, were previously allowed to register under MI law.

Electronic Registration Now Open

We have great news for our CHS athletes and their families! Student Central, the online portal for students and their parent/guardian to complete athletic paperwork, is now open!

FALL ATHLETES AND PARENTS/GUARDIANS

Please follow the instructions found at the link below to create your individual student and parent/guardian accounts. Once created, the accounts are linked together and both the student and parent/guardian can sign the required athletic forms. You DO NOT need to upload a copy of the physical you submitted for the Fall season. Our staff will manually enter and approve all physicals that have been received once the accounts have been set up.

Please see our Student Central Instructions for a step-by-step guide to creating the accounts.

WINTER AND SPRING ATHLETES AND PARENTS/GUARDIANS

Get ahead of the game! Create your accounts and complete the paperwork now. With the capabilities Student Central provides, we will be moving away from the tryout card request process starting with the Winter 2024-25 season. If you are currently playing a Fall sport, you do not have to upload a copy of your physical. Those will be added and approved by the athletic department.

  • Cs - 15%
  • Ds - 9%
  • Es - 14%
For students needing extra academic support, we offer after-school tutoring Monday through Thursday from 2:40 PM to 4:40 PM in the Media Center. Additionally, we have Saturday School this weekend. If you are interested in signing your student up, please follow this tiny.cc/CHSSatSchool

This week’s theme from our Positivity Project was "Knowing My Words and Actions Affect Others." This message resonates deeply with our goal to build a strong, supportive community here at CHS. When students prioritize academics, we often see positive behavior follow naturally. In the next newsletter, I will provide some behavior data from our school from the year so far.

As always, thank you for your continued partnership in your student's learning!
