Fisher Family Update
September 12, 2025

Dear Fisher Families,
We had another busy week at Fisher! Our PAC Ice Cream Social was the perfect way to kick things off! Students and families gathered for a sweet treat and the chance to connect with friends and meet new ones in our community. The following evening, we welcomed families back for Curriculum Night. It was great to see so many parents and families at Fisher, learning about their child(ren) grade level curriculum, the classroom routines, special events/activities and the many ways we’ll be working together to support student success.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for these events. We are grateful for your partnership and excited for all the learning and fun still to come this year!
Have a great weekend,
Brian

We’re our district’s elementary math coaches - Sheila Rinaldi-Boyden/OPR (srinaldi@walpole.k12.ma.us) and Jennifer Torigian Elm/Fisher (jtorigian@walpole.k12.ma.us) - working to support students, teachers, and families in building a love of math. If you ever have a topic or question you’d like us to explore, feel free to reach out to us via email and we will do our best to include it in a future Math Corner of the S’more!
Every September, we like to share our Math Family Website, a resource for families that supports all components of our elementary mathematics curriculum here in Walpole. For Parents and Caregivers, you will find resources on:

Scenes from Fisher!
This past week of STEM was greatly focused on the themes of teamwork and collaboration. After reading the story If I Built a School by Chris Van Dusen, groups of students rose to the challenge of designing and building a school of their wildest dreams. Younger students were inspired by the story The Most Magnificent Thing by Ashley Spires to create something magnificent using the limited materials given to them. Keep an eye out in the future for even more amazing things that are happening during STEM this year.
Scientists in Mrs. McDonald’s Class experimented with “fake” germs as they learned about hand washing and hygiene.

Walpole Public School App
For this coming school year, we are asking families to download the WPS app. We will be reserving SMS text messaging for urgent messages only. When sending non-urgent messages to families, we will be using the Live Feed as the delivery tool (through the WPS App). Urgent alerts are considered to be "must read right now" messages, such as school closings, late buses, absence notifications, and emergencies. Non urgent alerts are considered to be reminders for spirit days, special events after school, etc.
