WEEK 34

I blinked my eyes and the week was over! The days are ticking by very quickly for the 2023/2024 school year. We are still making strides every day towards greatness. We had an historical event take place this last week. We had our first ever Unified Track Meet. That was truly one of the greatest highlights of this year. Our students keep grinding away even though they are counting down the days. It has been a great year and I am looking forward to the progress and growth that will come in the next few years. Hope everyone has a great weekend and remember. ITS ALMOST MONDAY!!!

Curriculum Update from Jennifer Teague RCHS Curriculum Director

Teachers have been hard at work this school year, updating and revising current curriculum maps for the courses offered here at RCHS. We’ve been analyzing and evaluating our standards-based instruction; generating ideas for differentiation; and detailing our curricula via the creation of shared course overviews. We have time scheduled to continue working on our course overviews this summer and are already planning for next school year!

Message from the English Department: Parents of students in Honors English courses, please be on the lookout for summer reading materials!

Unified Track

On Wednesday evening a new chapter in RCHS Athletics was revealed! We competed in our first ever Unified Track Meet. The team made up of Unified Athletes and partner athletes led by Head Coach Brett Smith traveled to New Castle for this historic event. There were smiles, laughs, and even tears shed from many people in attendance. To watch these kids compete in these events truly fills your heart and is an example of what competition should be! Thank you Mr. Smith for bringing your vision of Unified Track to Rushville. Wednesday May 1, 2024 will be a day that I and many others will never forget!!

MRS WAGNER AND DAISY

A special shout out goes to Mrs. Wagner for bringing in her therapy dog Daisy! Daisy gets a huge part of this shout out as well!! On Tuesday morning this wonderful surprise walked the halls of RCHS before school. Seeing everyone absolutely light up when they came to greet Daisy was an highlight of the week! I never realize the power of a therapy dog until I encounter it. I think everyone benefited from this visit this morning and I look forward to more visits from Daisy!!

ADVANCED PHYSICAL CONDITIONING

I did a blub on this class earlier in the year. I was amazed at the progress that our kids have made in this class this year. Mr. Meek has brought a program to RCHS and to the RCHS Athletic Department that is going to make a difference!! Our coaches all believe in this class and the enrollment has grown for next year! This is where CHAMPIONS are made. Not on the fields and courts on game night but in the midst of the process!!
