Warrior Weekly

Quarter 1 came to end today and it has been a great but fast quarter! We had our first pep rally last Friday and it was a blast! Don’t forget to check out our social media for fun pictures and videos. Below you will find October's upcoming events and important information.

Dress Code- Beginning Monday, October 13, 2025, shorts with any kind of holes or distressed look will no longer be allowed to be worn on campus. If we do have shorts that are worn with holes or the distressed/scraped look, the students will be given the opportunity to change clothes or call home.

New Lockers- Over Fall Break, WMS will be getting new lockers! All items were removed from their lockers today and left in their WT classroom over the break. New lockers will be assigned to each student when we return on Monday, October 13, 2025. Thank you to our district office for the new black lockers!

Thursday, October 16- Vision, Data and iReady Information Night- We want to invite you into the building on Thursday, October 16, 2025 for Waccamaw Middle School’s annual Vision, Data and iReady Information Night! This is a drop in between 5:00-6:30 pm where you will be able to hear the vision and goals of the school year, meet with teachers to receive the SC Ready scores from last year as well as iReady diagnostic reports from this fall. You will also be able to review and give feedback on the SC Report Card and pick up the Quarter 1 Report Card. Complete the passport and you can feed your family, sponsored by our fabulous PTO! We will also have the cast of BeetleJuice Jr. perform live in the gym at 5:15pm so you don’t want to miss that!! During this night, you will be given the opportunity to give us feedback and truly see the data regarding our school. Your partnership is very important for the success of your child, and WE NEED YOU!

School-wide Field Trips- On October 21 and 22, 2025 our school will be taking school-wide field trips. Not all students will attend these trips. Absences will count as the musical is an educational field trip and core subject classes will meet on the You Are Awesome Q1 Celebration bowling field trip day. Please see the information letter to refresh your memory of the trips and the requirements to attend. The list of those eligible for the You Are Awesome Party Q1 Bowling trip will be shared with students on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Information Letter for October 2025

Red Ribbon Week- We have Red Ribbon Week coming up soon and would like to see all of our Warriors dress up to enjoy the day and support being drug free! Sergeant Lopez will give his drug prevention presentation on Friday, October 24, 2025 during Warrior Time so that we can continue to encourage our students to remain drug free and empower them with knowledge about drug paraphernalia. A copy of that presentation will be shared with you prior to that day.

Veteran’s Day Parade at WMS- Our first Veteran’s Day Parade is coming up and we want you to participate! We would like for any relative or close family friend that has served in the military services to come and be recognized with your WMS Warrior during an inside parade on November 11, 2025. This letter will come home with each student after break but it is linked here if you would like to fill this out and return to the front office. We are so excited to honor our Veterans!
