Positive Strategies for Supporting Behavior at Home
Zero Tolerance Items
Florida law prohibits students from carrying weapons on school property. The state's definition of weapons includes, among other things, the following items:
- Tasers
- Firearms
- Knives
- Box cutters
The law requires that any student found in possession of a weapon, including a taser or electronic device, must be expelled for a period of one year. This is outlined in the Student Code of Conduct, state law, and School Board Policy 5.1814 - Zero Tolerance Policy. Any student who has a weapon may also face possible criminal charges, such as arrest.
We greatly appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and secure learning environment for all. Our utmost priority is ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff, and maintaining a weapons-free environment is essential for creating a positive learning atmosphere.
PUBLIC SAFETY
E-Motorcycles are prohibited.
Dress Code
Students, please be advised, administrators will be enforcing dress code and the use of student IDs on campus beginning the first day of school. Beneath is the school district policy- Policy 5.182 outlining the dress code and Policy 5.0115 outlining the required use and display of student photo identification badges. Please plan accordingly.

Cell Phone Use - Policy 5.183
Florida State Statute (FS 1006.07 (f)) and School Board Policy (5.183) prohibit student cell phone use during instructional time and require teachers to designate an area for wireless communications devices during that time.
- In our effort to abide by state law and school board policy, students will be asked to secure their cell phones throughout the entirety of each class period.
- Students will have access to their cell phones before school, during transition times (between classes), and during lunch.
- If you need to reach your child urgently, please call the main office at 561-641-1200.
