Counselor Information Counselor Information

Dual Credit Information

If your 10th grader signed up for Dual credit classes for 11th grade, they recently received information via email from counselor Sarah Killion about how to apply to Collin College and information about signing up to take the TSIA if they need it. The TSIA will be given at McMillen on February 17th (it is too late to sign up for the January 27th administration). Your student’s email contained information about whether they need to take the TSIA, or you may contact Sarah Killion at sarah.killion@pisd.edu to verify if your student needs this important test. Collin College Representatives are currently visiting McMillen to help students get their applications complete if they need assistance. Please encourage your student to get these important steps completed. After March 2nd, any students who have not completed their required steps for Dual Credit classes will be unenrolled in Dual Credit and their classes will be changed for 11th grade.

If your student no longer wishes to take Dual Credit, or if your student is not signed up for Dual Credit but now wishes to be, please notify Ms. Killion.

Dazzlers Do Well - Again!

The Dazzlers attended their second, and last, contest on Saturday and came home with lots of hardware again! Every routine scored higher than our last contest, which just goes to show how hard the girls have been working this whole contest season. If you have a Dazzler in class, please give them a huge congratulations!

You might be wondering, "what's next for the Dazzlers?" We have officially entered Spring Show season, while also preparing for next year's team with tryouts this week and officer tryouts the week after spring break. We would love to see you all at our Spring Show, "Dazzlers At The Disco" on April 19th and 20th. Thank you for continuously supporting the Dazzlers!

BIG Art Day!

"Big Art Day" is an annual event organized by the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) to highlight the important of art education and creativity in communities across the state. The goal is to bring together art educators, their students, and communities on a single day to participate in various art-related activities. This year at McMillen the Visual Art's department and National Art Honor Society have been hard at work to create large scale interactive installation works on campus that incorporate a variety of art materials and processes. Starting March 4th, show your Panther Pride (and maybe participate too)by enjoying the artworks through the month of March!
