Homecoming recap and reaching the mid-trimester

Homecoming 2025 was a week for the record books! The entire week was filled with Crimson Pride, as more students participated in the spirit themes each day than any Homecoming in memory. They all had their eyes on the prize: The Crimson Cup! In the end, it was the mighty Class of 2026 who claimed glory for the first time. Each class should be proud of their representation and positive contribution to our school culture; it was a fabulous week at Maple Grove!

The outdoor dance on Saturday night at Crimson Stadium in front of the digital scoreboard may result in a new tradition! Great memories were made, and the weather cooperated perfectly with a nice breeze to cool down students (and staff). In the end, we may have been short on sleep, but we were full of Crimson Pride!

Crimson Choirs, Bands, and Orchestras held their first concerts with great success! It's amazing to see students of all grade levels, interest groups, personality types, races, and cultures all unite together in ensemble groups, bound by their love of music and performing together. Next up is our fall musical, Crazy For You! Shows occur November 7-8 and 13-15. Get your tickets here!

Meanwhile, the first post-season events have occurred for Crimson fall activities:

  • Girls' Tennis took second at team sections,
  • Girls' Soccer fell in the semifinals to Spring Lake Park, and
  • Boys' Soccer plays Mounds View in the section finals Tuesday night,
  • Girls' Tennis competes in individual sections this week, and
  • Girls' Volleyball begins section play next week.

Today we convene our second round of mid-trimester conferences from 3:00–7:00 p.m. Immediately following conferences is the winter parent/athlete/coach (PAC) meeting in the main gym. If your student is interested in winter activities, you'll want to attend this meeting which is facilitated by Activities Coordinator, Ricardo Jones.

My thanks to every Crimson family for your partnership and support. I'm so proud of our students, staff, and school community. Let's continue having a great school year!

Yours very sincerely,

Bart Becker, Principal

Procedures for picking up sick students at school Procedures for picking up sick students at school

We've had our first stretch at school in which a number of students are battling colds and other illnesses, resulting in some needing to get picked up during the school day. With that, it's a good time to remind families of our procedures to save you time and ensure a smooth excusal:

  • Students who feel ill at school should get a pass from their teacher to go to the health office.
    • If your student contacts home and asks to get picked up from school, please remind them to go to the health office.
  • Families will receive a call from our nurse to confirm the student is ill and ready to get picked up.
  • Once at school, families can either:
    • Remain in their car and call the health office (763.391.8746 or 763.391.8145), and the student will be sent out to your car; or
    • Park and enter Door A and meet your student in the front lobby after checking in.
