Something to Yelle About
The Weekly Newsletter for the Henri A. Yelle Elementary
WHAT AN ABSOLUTE TREAT THIS
WEEK WAS IN #HAYNation!
Yelle Newsletter for October 31st!
Hello from the Yelle.
Happy Halloween! There is always something great about Halloween landing on a Friday or Saturday. Yes, it is so great for the kids so that they can truly enjoy the night without having to wake up early for school the next morning, and we'll be honest here, we appreciate it as well that there is no school on the day after. Enjoy the weekend! But before you do, please check out this fun-filled newsletter!
In the big picture above, each week, I use it as a way to highlight and show what we were able to accomplish during the week.
This week I highlight a bunch of today's Halloween activities. One of the larger pictures is of our 2nd and 3rd floor teachers and staff dressed as Bees and Bee Keepers, which the staff again had fun doing this year (you can see the rest of the staff below in costume). And, I love it when I can walk around in the morning of Halloween and catch students in their costumes just working away. It is always special to find a dinosaur working on his chromebook, or Jason or Freddie Krueger reading silently, or an angel up at the board writing out her thinking explaining how she figured out an answer. In the Big Picture above, we have kids with their prizes from our HAY PTO Bingo from the end of the day today. We also have the Lorax missing his picture time for he was doing work in the classroom, as the friends from his story I was able to catch and get a picture of in the hall. I also have a snapshot of our #PositiveSignThursday message of how it is such A TREAT To Be With these kiddos each and every day. It is beyond a TREAT!
These and the other pictures below that I have snapped throughout the week in and around the classrooms really do relay a story of what our students and teachers achieved this week. Please check them out below and all over our Instagram feed to help to tell the tremendous story we are writing this year.

Attention All Afternoon Yelle Bus Riders:
On Thursday, November 6th, our Yelle students who ride the bus in the afternoon will be home a little earlier than normal, please make note of this.
On Thursday afternoon, the Norton Middle School has a half-day early dismissal for their Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences, so the bus routes will have less than half the number of students so our Yelle students will be home anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes earlier than normal.
Our Yelle dismissal time will be regular time of 2:45PM, but the students on the afternoon buses will be home earlier than normal this Thursday, November 6.
Wellness Class Footwear
Wellness Class Footwear Reminder from Mrs. McCallister
As a reminder, students should wear sneakers on their Wellness days to ensure safety and full participation in class activities. Proper footwear allows students to move comfortably and safely during lessons. Please avoid boots, sandals, crocs, or other non-athletic shoes on these days. Thank you for your continued support in helping our students stay active and safe!
Dear Norton Families,
At Norton Public Schools, weβre always working to improve the meals we serve to students. Thatβs why weβre excited to partner with Chartwells K12 on the School Meals Report Card.
This nationwide survey gives students, parents, families, and staff the chance to share feedback on school meals.
The survey only takes a few minutes and is completely anonymous with no identifying information collected. It will be open from October 13 to November 7.
Take the survey now, and letβs work together to make school meals even better!
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SMRC2025
At Chartwells K12, our mission is to ensure that kids leave the cafeteria happier and healthier than when they came in. To support this mission, we are excited to announce the School Meals Report Card, a nationwide initiative designed to gather valuable feedback and insights from the people who matter most: students, their parents and families, and school staff.
What is the School Meals Report Card?
The School Meals Report Card survey will provide valuable insights into satisfaction and preferences at both local and national levels. This feedback will enable us to make meaningful improvements to our meal programs, ensuring they better meet the needs of Norton PS and the community, and ultimately enhancing K-12 school meal programs nationwide.
Why is Your Support Important?
The success of this initiative depends on participation. The survey will be available from October 13 to November 7, 2025, and we need your help to ensure it reaches the right audience.
A Note on Privacy
Please note that the survey is completely anonymous. No identifying information will be collected.
