2 Days Away From Summer...
Dear Stevenson Families,
It is hard to believe, but we have reached the final week of the school year. Only two half days remain!
As a reminder:
- Monday will follow a Periods 1–3 schedule.
- Tuesday will follow a Periods 4–6 schedule.
Students should not bring backpacks, binders, notebooks, or other school materials during these final days. They only need to bring essential personal items as we conclude the school year.
As we finish another successful year at Stevenson, I want to thank our students and families for your support, partnership, and commitment to our school community. It has been a joy to watch our students learn, grow, and create lasting memories throughout the year.
I would also like to share that I will not be returning to Stevenson in the fall. Serving as principal of this incredible school has been one of the greatest honors of my career. I am deeply grateful for the relationships, support, and memories that I will carry with me for years to come.
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your children's educational journey. I wish each of you a wonderful summer filled with relaxation, fun, and time with family and friends.
As always, it's a great day to be a Saint.
Sincerely,
Nick James
Principal,
Stevenson Middle School
Important Reminders
Parents,
Please note that on Tuesday, June 2nd, we will be holding all-day field day festivities (Day of Awesomeness). For safety and smooth operations, we ask that you try your best to avoid picking up your student between 12pm and 2:40pm. We appreciate your understanding and support as we celebrate this special day!
- As the weather warms up, we want to remind families that squirt guns and other toy weapons are not permitted at school. While they may seem harmless, they can cause disruptions and safety concerns within the building. Any student who brings a squirt gun to school will face disciplinary consequences, which may include suspension.
- We’d also like to remind families that fast food is not permitted at school. If you bring fast food for your student, they will be required to eat their lunch in the office rather than the cafeteria.

Athletics Attendance Contract
Stevenson Middle School Athletic Event Attendance Contract
Stevenson Middle School aims to provide a positive and safe environment for students attending after-school athletic events. To ensure that all attendees can enjoy these events respectfully, we ask both students and parents/guardians to read, understand, and agree to the guidelines below. Failure to adhere to these expectations will result in removal from the event and potential suspension from attending future games for the remainder of the season.
Attendance Agreement
By signing this contract, students and parents/guardians agree to the following terms:
Tardiness:
Students must not have any tardies on game days to be eligible to attend that day's event.
Student IDs:
Students must present their student ID upon entering the building.
Language:
Inappropriate language or swearing is strictly prohibited at all athletic events. If a student is heard using inappropriate language, they will be removed from the event immediately and will be disqualified from attending any remaining games for the season.
Hallway and Building Behavior:
Suspended students may not attend events.
Students are expected to leave school property immediately after school and may return only when the event begins. If a student is found wandering the hallways or behaving disruptively, they will be asked to leave immediately and will be disqualified from attending any future games for the remainder of the season.
Immediate Pick-Up:
If a student is removed from an event for any reason, a parent or guardian must be available to pick up the student immediately.
Students must have a ride home immediately after the game ends. Late pick ups will result in disqualification from attending any future home games.
Agreement and Signatures
By signing below, we acknowledge that we have read, understood, and agree to adhere to the guidelines outlined in this contract. We understand that failure to follow these guidelines will result in removal from the event and a suspension from attending further athletic events for the remainder of the season.

Parents must be cleared by iChat. Once the clearance is approved, the request is passed to Admin.
Admin will notify the teacher that the request has been made/approved and allow the teacher to schedule the visit.
Once the visit is scheduled, front office staff must be notified.

We appreciate your cooperation in using the main drop-off and pick-up areas only. Our goal is to ensure that every student arrives and leaves school safely each day. Thank you for your attention to this important matter and for helping us keep our school community safe.

Free Gun Locks
Student safety is a top priority in Wayne-Westland Community Schools, both at school and at home.
Thanks to the Michigan State Police, we have FREE gun locks available for staff and families. Pick one up at any school office or the district office—no questions asked.
A new Michigan law requires firearms to be stored safely, away from children and teens. This means:
Locking them in a secure storage box, or
Keeping them unloaded and using a locking device.
Safe storage saves lives. Thanks for helping keep our kids safe.
