Kohlberg Elementary Newletter
Week of 4-14-25
As we approach the end of the school year, I want to take a moment to share two important reminders with our Coyote community.
Please take a few moments to complete the online registration process for the upcoming school year. Early registration helps us plan effectively for staffing, resources, and classroom placements. If you have not yet completed registration, please do so as soon as possible. This will help to ensure a smooth start to the new school year for all of our Coyotes.
Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Coyotes are participating in STAAR testing for two more weeks, and it’s important that all students attend school each day, even those in non-tested grades. A consistent school routine supports a calm and focused testing environment for everyone, and all students benefit from continuing classroom instruction.

Counselor's Corner
April is the Month of the Military Child!
One of the things that I love about living in El Paso is the fact that we have been able to know so many military families--mostly soldiers from Ft. Bliss, but also all branches who have served or are currently serving our country. We have about 70 students at Kohlberg who have at least one parent who is active or retired military. Some of our students have a parent who is currently deployed. For military families, we know that there are sacrifices that the entire family makes when a family member is deployed. On Friday, we gave purple bracelets and bookmarks to those students who have a parent who is active or retired military.
For those of you who have served or are currently serving, I want to say THANK YOU. We are honored to have your family at Kohlberg.
We appreciate all that you do to serve our country, and we appreciate your sacrifices. Please let us know how we can support you.
On Tuesday, April 15th we will join EPISD in wearing purple to honor and show support for our Military Kids.
Mrs. Coco Navarrete is our Military Liaison and Parent Engagement Leader at Kohlberg. She is the wife of an active duty soldier. She and her volunteers are planning a special "Purple Up Party" for military-connected students on April 29th. We want these children to know that we are thankful for their parent's service but also for THEIR sacrifices as children of those who serve.
Kohlberg Career Day--Coming Soon!
Our students will have the opportunity to make important connections about the things they are learning in the classroom today and what they may choose to do in the future. They may even hear something that sparks their interest and leads them to discover their passion for their future!
