Hillside Happenings
May 8, 2026
Dear Hillside Families,
We have a very special celebration in the building this week—it is our therapy dog River’s second birthday! To celebrate, students can purchase River Trading Cards for $1, with all proceeds going directly toward his ongoing care and "paws-itive" work at our school.
It has been a week full of discovery, as our students had an incredible time exploring the Girl Scouts Mobile STEAM Lab. The hands-on activities were a huge hit and sparked so much curiosity across all grade levels!
We also want to extend a sincere thank you to the parent volunteers who helped make our Kindergarten Orientation such a warm and welcoming success for our newest Huskies.
A huge "thank you" to our phenomenal PTA for rolling out a truly fabulous Staff Appreciation Week! We are so grateful for the leadership of board member Angela Probst in making our staff feel so celebrated and valued. Looking ahead, we are still seeking volunteers for the 5th Grade Glow Party—please check the details further down in this newsletter to see how you can help.
Our Color Splash Dash fundraiser kicks off on May 18th, culminating in the big event on May 29th. Stay tuned for more information coming your way soon!
This month, we are focusing on Habit #8: Find Your Voice, and Inspire Others to Find Theirs. We are encouraging our students to move beyond the first seven habits by discovering their unique strengths and using them to uplift and empower those around them.
Repeat Reminders:
📝 Your Voice Matters: Important Surveys
As we look toward the future, your input is more essential than ever. We have important surveys linked below and would greatly appreciate a few moments of your time to complete them.
We deeply value your feedback, as it helps us ensure we are providing the best possible experience for every student and family in our community. Thank you for partnering with us and for your continued support of our school!
