11.11.21 Veteran's Day

What does signing an NLI mean?

Specifically, by signing an NLI, you agree to attend the institution for one year in exchange for the institution's promise, in writing, to provide you athletics financial aid for the entire academic year. ... Furthermore, by signing an NLI you effectively end the recruiting process.

This week marks the National Letter of Intent week for 2021-22. All NCAA Division 1 and Division 2 Student-Athletes ceremoniously sign and commit themselves for their Academic and Athletic futures.

Congratulations to 3 of our Mustangs who signed this week...

• Volleyball player Kate Stoughton for her commitment to Long Beach State University
• Girls Lacrosse player Summer Castiglione for her commitment to the University of New Haven

• Boys Lacrosse player Chase DeVeau for his commitment to Caldwell University

Mustang Gymnast, Abby Kenney earned herself a State Sectional Championship this past weekend....and will compete for an OVERALL State Championship tomorrow as Brick Memorial hosts the NJSIAA Individual Championships.

Abby tied for 2nd in Vault, finished 2nd in Bars, finished 3rd in Floor and WON 1st place in Beam and All-Around!!!

Tiana Cimino also placed 8th in Beam and Floor, and 9th in All-Around.

These gymnasts qualified and competed among ALL of the South Section of the state of New Jersey!

Our Girls Soccer team, lead by legendary coach Billy Caruso lost in heartbreaking fashion this past Tuesday in the Semi-Final round of the NJSIAA State Playoffs...losing to #2 seed Hopewell Valley by way of Penalty Kicks.

It was a disappointing outcome, but our girls finished this season 15-4-1 and not only earned much respect around the Shore and the State....but brought a successful and competitive brand of Mustang Soccer back to its rightful form!! There is much to be proud of...and much to continue to look forward to!

Our Girls Volleyball earned the right to host the State Championship Sectional Final by upsetting the #1 seed last week at JFK Iselin.

They unfortunately lost to a very good ColtsNeck team, but welcomed a very energetic and prideful Mustang School Community to our Gym for the exciting match!

It was a great run by a great team, lead by Coaches Tom Trembulak, Dan Yarbrough and Liz Miller!!!

Our Boys XC team earned a third place finish in the Central Jersey Group 3 Championship meet last week held at Thompson Park. With that, the boys have qualified to run in the Group Championships this weekend at Holmdel Park!

With the recent passing of Legendary Athletic Director, Bill Bruno...a void was felt by not just Brick Memorial and the Brick School District...but many schools all over the State.

Mr. Bruno was an ICON in all High School Sports...but was most known for his work in the Track and Field and Cross Country worlds!

Accordingly, it was great to see the NJSIAA dedicate this year's Cross Country Tournament in his honor.

Coming off their State Championship last week, and earning the right to compete in the Atlantic Coast Championship....our Brick Memorial Marching Mustagns did it again!!!

This past weekend they took home their 9th Atlantic Coast Championship. With the score 96.95 and the awards for Best Visual, Best Music and Best Color-Guard. We were also the highest scoring band in ALL GROUPS and ALL CLASSES!
