Plover-Whiting Wildcat News!
September 2025
Welcome Back, Wildcat Families! 💜
Welcome back! I hope your summer has been filled with time to relax, make memories, and enjoy the people you love. We are incredibly excited to welcome our Wildcats back for another wonderful school year!
There is something special about the beginning of a new school year - the excitement of seeing familiar faces, welcoming new families, meeting new teachers, reconnecting with friends, and opening the doors to so many new possibilities. Our staff has been busy preparing classrooms, planning meaningful learning experiences, and getting our school ready for the return of our students. We can't wait to have the hallways filled with their smiles, laughter, curiosity, and energy again!
At Plover-Whiting, we want every child to know that they are an important part of our Wildcat family. Together, we will continue creating a school where students feel safe, supported, challenged, and loved - a place where they can Believe, Belong, and Become.
Thank you for trusting us with your children and for being such an important partner in their education. The relationship between our families and school makes Plover-Whiting a truly special community.
We are looking forward to an amazing year filled with learning, growth, friendships, celebrations, and plenty of Wildcat pride!
Enjoy these last few weeks of summer, and get ready, Wildcats - we can't wait to welcome you back!
With excitement,
Angela Hintz

🩺 Health and Medication Forms
Message From Nurse
I am Nurse Megan, your 2026-27 school year School Nurse. Healthy students are better learners. Our health services team is dedicated to removing health-related barriers to education so that every child at Plover-Whiting Elementary can fully access optimal learning opportunities in a safe, supportive environment.
The Role of the School Health Services Team
Immediate Care & Injury Response: Provides triage, first aid, and emergency care for student injuries or sudden illnesses during the school day.
Health Screenings: Conducts routine vision, hearing, and growth screenings to identify and address potential learning obstacles early.
Community Health & Wellness: Tracks immunizations, monitors contagious illnesses, and promotes healthy hygiene habits across the student body.
If your child manages a chronic or short-term medical condition (such as severe allergies, asthma, diabetes, seizures, or daily medications), health services works closely with you to ensure they participate safely and fully in all school activities:
Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs): We partner with you and your child’s healthcare provider to build tailored care and emergency action plans for the school day.
Medication Management: We oversee the safe storage, administration, and documentation of all prescription and over-the-counter medications per district policy.
Staff Education: We train teachers and support staff on specific health conditions, accommodations, and medical emergency protocols.
How We Can Partner Together
Keep Us Updated: Notify the health office promptly about any new diagnoses, updated medical instructions, or shifts in your child's well-being. If you go to the doctor and receive any new diagnosis or medical device, please ask the doctor for a note for school with any restrictions or recommendations!
Complete Annual Documentation: Ensure emergency contact details, health history forms, and medication permission slips are updated at the start of each school year.
Follow Illness Guidelines: Keep students home when experiencing a fever, vomiting, or contagious symptoms to allow for proper recovery and maintain a healthy building for everyone.
We look forward to partnering with your family to keep your child healthy, safe, and ready to learn!
