An Update from the Principal
Hello MHS Community,
I hope you had a wonderful weekend and all is well. Today is the start of semester two, and overall, we had a very smooth and positive first semester. During the first semester, we brought MHS fantastic happenings- A back-to-backfield hockey state championship and strong semi-finalist results from varsity soccer and cross country runners. Our production of Urinetown was outstanding. A beautiful Winter Choral and Music Concert. Fall Harvest Festival. MHS has reduced our Chronic Absenteeism to 25% in the 23-24 School year.
We look forward to a thrilling finish to winter sports, the VT Debate Championship, Masque's production of 12th Night, our all-school Soup for the Soul event, Race Against Racism, Pizza for the People, Prom, and Graduation.
We appreciate all of your support thus far and look forward to our continued work together to improve our daily attendance, work to engage students and have a sense of belonging at MHS, and our continued efforts in learning with students through academics.
Thank you for communicating and reaching out when you have questions, and we look forward to our time together in semester two.
Sincerely,
Jason
Novelist and writer Marguerite Yourcenar on helping others become who they are and not who we want them to be:
"Our great mistake is to try to exact from each person virtues which he does not possess, and to neglect the cultivation of those which he has."

Caregiver Group Updates
MRPS Partners in Education (MRPS PIE)
Hi All! Ever since Covid, MHS "Boosters"- the school's Parents/Caregivers group, (now called MHS Caregivers Alliance) has been dwindled down to the bare minimum. The small group of us who have stayed connected would like to revive some of the activities of the group and get more folks involved. We have created this survey to collect information and brainstorm ideas of how to move forward. We want to know who is interested, what ideas you might have, and what you would like to see the group accomplish over the coming years. If you could take a minute to fill this out... it would be much appreciated!
We are hoping to host a meeting of the minds in early February... so please get your responses in soon :)

Central Vermont Career Center Survey
CVCC is your local career and technical education (CTE) center. Check us out online: https://cvtcc.org/!
Every two years CTEs across the country take part in a comprehensive local needs assessment (CLNA). We do this in an effort to plan for the future and to continue to be eligible for federal funding to support our programming. As part of the CLNA process every two years we conduct a needs analysis, a gap analysis and develop a local plan. One component of this work includes surveys which are required to gather input form a variety of stakeholders. If you are receiving this email, you are considered one of our stakeholders!
Please help us out by completing the survey that is appropriate for you...
