Academy Announcements

Dear Academy Families and Friends,

The month is really going by fast. It was great to see so many families in person and online for parent teacher conferences. When home and school partners together, kids succeed! We cannot thank all of our families for being active and dedicate partners in helping our students grow. From good attendance habits and working in step with our teachers, teamwork truly makes the dream work!

The Panorama survey went well. We are excitedly waiting for the results. We'll use this data both now and in the spring to make sure our work in the area of SEL is effective and support all students here at Academy.
The Canned Food Drive begins tomorrow (Nov. 18-22) to help the Weymouth Food Pantry. Please see the list below for items we need to help those in our community.
They are also sponsoring the Coats for Kids drive. Coats can be donated now through January 3. We take all sizes: men's, women's, children's and infants!
The Bookfair is back this week. Students will be able to view and buy books up in the Library this week.
The Elks Writing Contest is on. We have some pretty talented 5th grade writers at Academy. I would love to see our students compete!!! This year's focus asks the question, "What does Patriotism mean to me?" Click here for more info!

A lot of parents ask...what is ROAR all about???

ROAR is our PBIS model. There are four elements, one for each letter. R=Respect, O=Ownership, A=Achievement, and R=Responsibility. Each month students earn praise paws for all the good deed they do in alignment with these four elements. Then at the end of each month, we come together in the gym and celebrate students and staff from around the building doing great things!!! See the pictures below and online for more info)
