Belmont Elementary: A PAWSitive Place to Learn!
Does Anyone Even Know What Day it is?
Wow. I really am struggling to find the right words for the craziness that has been the last several weeks since winter break. I mean really. We've only had twenty full days of school, plus two delayed start days. We should be heading into our 29th day. That's seven full, or at least partial, days of lost learning, which may not seem like a lot to the average person, but I'm telling you that to teachers who agonize over planning every lesson for every subject to be delivered in both a progressively sequential and cylindrically revisited manner over the course of 186 days...that's a WHOLE LOT of lost time. Given that we also lose momentum every time there is a scheduled break (weekends and holidays included) having an unscheduled break incites the same level of chaos here as it probably does in your home when you have to scramble for child care and activities to entertain the young humans who can no longer spend the majority of their waking moments at school! We get it. Honestly, one snow day now and then is uplifting and sometimes beautiful. I'm here to tell you that we are all now in the same boat wherein enough is enough! We need our young humans to be in their classrooms! PLEASE consider putting every school day for the rest of the year way up high on the priority list for your family. A day at school cannot be made up by completing a couple of worksheets anymore. Learning is a team sport, and we need all of our players to suit up, because it's game time and we're headed for the 'ship!

WatchDOGS Wednesdays!!
It's a WatchDOGS revival in the Belmont DogHouse! With at least a week's notice, we'll welcome a DAD (gotta be a significant adult guardian or relation) each Wednesday to work a day at BE. There will be a schedule provided that will include a variety of tasks including building safety, academic assistance in classrooms, and logistical support during lunch, and the reward...RECESS! We guarantee you'll have the opportunity to enjoy lunch and recess with your own child(ren) and around that, we'll put you to work in the classrooms where your extra hands will be the most helpful! Do YOU have the opportunity to take a day off to hang out with about 370 beautiful children and the adults who love learning with them?
Access the WatchDOGS Sign Up HERE.
Join us!
We need MORE special people to join our Connections C team! We've been making the magic work by pulling people from their other jobs, but we would sure rather provide consistency for our students with the same staff every day. How about you? Are you pretty consistent? Do you love kids? Do you think it's pretty cool to work with other pretty cool people? We laugh. We cry. We hug it out. (To be clear...hugging is completely optional.) We celebrate. We learn and we grow. Come grow with us!
Your future "I didn't know how much I'd love it!" opportunity starts by clicking here.

All you need to do is click on the link below and fill out some general information about the deserving nominee. Thank you for helping our team know that their dedication is appreciated.
