Inside Scoop
Hockinson High School - 2024-2025
May 16, 2025
Hello, Hawks:
May is a big month! Postseason sports. Testing. Parades (Hazel Dell, tomorrow; Fun Days, end of the month). Graduation preparation. Hawks are soaring!
We've got a few make-ups next week, but Advanced Placement exams have pretty much wrapped up. Our students have made incredible progress since the spring of 2022, when there were fifty-five (55) exams taken with a 51% pass rate. Last year, we had 132 exams taken with a 65% pass rate. Both numbers are higher than they've ever been at HHS. This year, 169 exams have been taken! We won't know scores until July, but this is tremendous growth.
Speaking of growth - our state ELA scores have a pass rate of roughly 82%. Last year's pass rate was 76%. The highest in our school's history is 83% back in 2018-2019. The state pass rate is at 60%. Keep up the strong effort, Hawks.
Up next, we've got:
- State SBA Math (10th Grade) - May 19-22
- State Science (11th Grade) - May 20-21
On Saturday - band and cheer march in the Hazel Dell Parade; Varsity Baseball is in the postseason in Ridgefield at 11am.
On Monday, May 19, we've got our first ever Rising Senior Night. This is for current 11th graders and their families. Come in and visit with us as we go over graduation requirements and how to prepare for senior year!
From May 30-31, the tradition of Hockinson Fun Days continues! Hockinson AAA Boosters puts on an amazing show, but they cannot do it without our community support. If you are able, please sign up to volunteer here.
