Dear BES Families,

Three Mondays left! How is that even possible?? I know we say it every year, but it just doesn't seem possible that it is really MAY! Thank you for coming to Donuts with Grown-Ups on Friday. It was fun having everyone join us.

Here's what's coming up at BES!

  • This next week is our last week of Power Hour. Thank you to all the volunteers for helping work with our students after school!
  • The mySAEBRS permission can still be completed. We will be administering the screener this week, so please have your form completed by Monday morning if you are wanting your child to participate.
  • This Wednesday is Bike to School Day! You can see information below on how you can join in the fun!
  • Friday is our 5th Grade Wax Museum!!! We love this event and hope you can join us.
  • Our Field Day information is below also. Families are welcome to attend or come and go. We have events all day with a lunch break in the middle.
  • You'll also find information from Nurse Candice about end of year reminders in regards to medications and medical supplies.
  • There is information about our Talent Show on the last day of school. Families are welcome to attend!

This week is also Teacher Appreciation Week. Our PTO does an amazing job at spoiling us each year. Please check out the weekly events below. You'll notice that there's an opportunity for families to send in notes on Thursday!

Attendance and School Calendar Attendance and School Calendar

Please take note of our school calendars when planning your family's vacations.

Attendance is a focus at BES and we want your children at school! It can be very difficult for students to get caught up sometimes when they miss for extended periods of time. For example, when a student misses a week of school, that is up to 450 minutes of math instruction they are missing!

If your family does have a trip planned, we do not provide lessons or materials ahead of those trips. Teachers will work with you to schedule times when your student can be given that instruction and guided work time to ensure mastery of skills. This may have to happen before or after school, but we will also try to work during the school day as well.

GREAT school habits now help prepare students for future success!
