NATE’Z NOTEZ
Welcome to the September edition of Natez Notez. Where has the time gone? Only one more in-person meeting before our annual banquet. Before I talk about the meeting and the banquet, I want to talk about what went on in August, but that will be quick because the answer, unfortunately, is…not very much. August’s general meeting was at Waldo’s Chicken and Beer in Southlands, and again we had about a dozen people. Interestingly, however, we found Waldo. The owner of Waldo’s name is Waldo, so now if anyone asks, “Where's Waldo?", you can now say you met him, and he has a restaurant in Southlands.
We also had our annual BBQ, and I want to thank those of you who showed up. There is a recap and photos in the Odometer. We also had a very brief Sonic Car show on Friday, but it was short-lived because Mother Nature had other plans. We ended up continuing the event with an impromptu wine and charcuterie party at Mario and Jo’s.
Our last in-person meeting is September 2nd at Old Chicago in Aurora. Tiffany’s amazing artwork (for all of our events) will include all the meeting info.
The totals are now in for active member points, and 22 members are going to take home a wonderfully unique active member gift this year.
We look for to seeing all of you at Old Chicago this Wednesday so you can get your first point for next year. That's all I got for this edition of Natez Notez, so until next time…
“Keep the rubber side down and the shiny side up”.
Regardz,
Nate

Event RecapZ
Annual BBQ at the Dermans
By Nate Derman
The day started out with Mother Nature bringing a heavy-duty rainstorm to Aurora. It lasted for about 30 minutes and soaked all the patio furniture, so by the time our guests showed up, the storm was over, but the party stayed inside. 15 members and one guest showed up despite the weather to enjoy burgers, hot dogs, and some very tasty side dishes and desserts. As always, we love having our Z family over for the summer party and look forward to seeing you here again for our holiday party/white elephant gift exchange in December. On behalf of Cheryle, Chloe, and me, thanks to all who attended.
Sonic Car Show
By Mario Busnardo
Mario and Jo arrived around 4:00 pm at the Sonic Parking lot and experienced 100-degree temperatures under a bright sun with no shade. They set up a canopy for shade, and while doing so, clouds rolled in, and it cooled a bit. However, the wind also came in and was pretty gusty. The Dermans showed up and helped with the canopy in the wind. As others came, the clouds looked ominous, and shortly the wind tried to take all of them and the canopy over Aurora without a parachute. That’s when the rain started, and they hustled to get the canopy down. They headed out and decided to go to the Busnardo's home to continue enjoying each other. With help from the Dermans, they had cheese and crackers and, of course, wine. Everyone had a great time. Best car show this year!
