Important Updates - September 3rd
Thank you for attending Curriculum Night!
We truly appreciate all the parents who joined us for Curriculum Night. Your partnership in your child's education is invaluable to us, and we're grateful for your engagement and support. If you missed Curriculum Night, please be sure to check your email. Your child's teacher has shared all the important information with you so you can stay informed about what's ahead this year.
Thank you for being such wonderful partners in your child's learning journey.
Alternate Schedule Plan for 2026–2027
To make sure all students get equal learning time throughout the year, we adjust the schedule when there's a day off (like a Monday holiday). Instead of skipping that day, we ‘move’ the missed day to another day that week. This way, classes like PE, STEM, Art, and Music stay balanced for everyone!
If your student normally brings an instrument to school on Mondays for a lesson, please have them bring their instrument on Thursday instead.
No school on Monday, Sept 7 → We follow a Monday schedule on Thursday, Sept 10
Physical Education Update
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we begin the school year, the PE Teachers want to share a quick reminder about Physical Education (PE) and preparing for outdoor activities.
Whenever weather and conditions allow, our PE classes may take place outdoors. Being outside gives students additional opportunities to move, play, and develop their physical skills in a different environment. Because of this, it is important that students dress appropriately for the weather each day.
Please encourage your child to come to school prepared for the day's conditions. This may include:
- Comfortable athletic clothing that allows for movement
- Sweatshirts or jackets on cooler days
- Layers that can be removed as temperatures rise
- Hats, gloves, or other cold-weather clothing when appropriate
- Athletic shoes suitable for running and physical activity (closed toe)
Please remember that students may be outside for PE even when the weather feels different from the rest of the school day. Checking the forecast in the morning can help ensure your child is prepared and comfortable.
Water Bottles
Students are welcome and encouraged to bring a water bottle to PE. Staying hydrated is an important part of being active and helps students feel their best during physical activity.
If your child brings a water bottle, please make sure it is:
- Clearly labeled with their name
- A reusable bottle that can be securely closed
- Filled with water
We encourage water rather than sports drinks, juice, or other flavored beverages during the school day. Students will have opportunities to drink water as needed, particularly during longer or more vigorous activities and on warmer days.
Thank you for helping your child come to PE prepared, comfortable, and ready to move!
Sincerely,
Davis Physical Education
Bicycle Safety on School Grounds
Dear Davis Families,
As more students bike to school, we want to make sure everyone stays safe during drop-off and pick-up. With so many students, parents, and vehicles moving through our grounds at those times, please remind your child to walk their bike (not ride it) once they enter school property.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep our Davis community safe.

Please turn in your child's paperwork to the Davis Nurse by 9/15/26.
If your child’s physical is coming up, please email the Health Office proof of the upcoming appointment. This can be a screenshot of the appointment confirmation or a note from the doctor’s office.
Please remember that the physical must be dated on or after August 13, 2025 to be considered valid.

D303 Fall Screening and Benchmark Assessments
Davis 2-5 grade students have completed the i-Ready Inform Assessment, formerly known as the i-Ready Diagnostic, in reading and math. This assessment provides students, teachers, and families with information that can help guide learning and identify areas of strength and needed support.
Parents may access your child's progress through the i-Ready parent portal using the directions provided below.
i-Ready For Families Report Parent Access Directions
