Mr. Hartrum, Principal
Welcome Panthers
Dear Diamond View Students and Families,
It is with great excitement that I welcome you to the 2026–2027 school year at Diamond View Middle School! Whether you are returning for another year or joining us for the first time, I am truly honored to welcome you to our Diamond View community.
As many of you know, I have had the privilege of serving Diamond View students for the past several years as a teacher, and it has been one of the greatest joys of my career. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue serving our students, families, and staff as your principal. Diamond View is a special place, and I am humbled to be part of a school community that cares so deeply about helping every student succeed.
Susanville has always been home to me. I attended Diamond View as a student, graduated from Lassen High School, and after earning my degrees and teaching credential, I was grateful to return home to teach. Today, my wife and I are raising our four children here, and we are thankful to be part of such a caring community. Diamond View is more than the school where I work—it is the school that helped shape my own life, and it is now a place where I have the privilege of helping shape the lives of others.
One of the things I appreciate most about Diamond View is the incredible people who make this school what it is. Our teachers, support staff, classified employees, and families work together every day to create a safe, caring, and engaging environment where students can grow academically, socially, and personally. I believe every student has tremendous potential, and our mission is to help each child discover that potential while feeling known, valued, challenged, and supported.
I am also thankful for the strong foundation established under Mrs. Heimbigner's leadership. Together, our staff is committed to building on that momentum as we continue striving for academic excellence, fostering meaningful relationships, and creating opportunities for every student to thrive. We are proud of the recognition Diamond View has received as a California Distinguished School, and believe our best days are yet to come.
I look forward to meeting our new families, reconnecting with returning students, and partnering with you throughout the school year. Please know my door is always open. I encourage you to stop by, introduce yourself, and never hesitate to reach out if there is anything I can do to support your family.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children. Together, I know we will make this a year filled with learning, growth, friendship, and Panther Pride.
Here's to a fantastic school year!
