Dear Parents and Carers,
This week has been another positive and purposeful one in school. Following last week’s Stammering Workshop, staff have been putting their new learning into practice—ensuring our classrooms continue to be places where every child’s voice is valued and heard.
On Thursday, we welcomed colleagues from other Yorkshire Learning Trust schools for our Peer Review on Maths. It was a productive day full of professional dialogue, reflection, and sharing of good practice. The feedback received was very encouraging and will help us continue to refine our approach to teaching and learning in mathematics.
On Friday, we marked World Mental Health Day by wearing yellow to show our support and raise awareness of mental health. During today’s Thrive sessions, children explored this important topic and reflected on how we can all look after our wellbeing. Their creativity shone through as they came together to make a beautiful “ray of sunshine” to brighten a grey October day!
Looking ahead, next week we will be preparing for our upcoming Harvest Celebration, with children learning about gratitude, community, and the importance of sharing with others. We will be collecting donations for the local food bank so please send these in with your child before next Thursday.
Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support. It is through our shared commitment that we continue to make our school a place where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to achieve their best.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend,
Mel Walmsley
Headteacher
