Dear BES Families,

Thank you to all our morning volunteers for Start with Hello Week! It was fun seeing everyone!

It's Conference Time! Yes, parent teacher conferences and the end of the first quarter is in 2.5 weeks!! Check your calendars and be ready to get a conference time that works for you! Our conference scheduler will open up tomorrow morning at 8am. The steps to schedule a conference are below. Our conferences are held on these days and times:

Wednesday, October 8th from 4pm-8pm

Thursday, October 9th from 8am-12pm

We are starting to have attendance letters sent out. These letters are meant to keep you informed as to the number of days your child has missed. If our threshold of absences are hit, letters go out. It is extremely important that students are here every day possible. For extended absences, we do not send work home. Just completing the work does not replace the valuable instruction behind the work and that time must be made up either during the school day or after school. Your teacher and I are happy to discuss options on how we can support your child.

We had such a successful GLOW BASH and School Store start. Thank you so much for your generosity. Our hope is that if you do online shopping, this would be easy! The teacher gift cards are so very generous and above and beyond our expectations. Thank you. The Glow Bash results are below and due to everything you did this week...we made sure to hit our goal!

The Louisburg Recreation Commission has 5 board members. Two are appointed by the City of Louisburg. Two are appointed by Louisburg School District. The 5th board member is appointed by the other four LRC Board Members. One of the two seats that the school district appoints is expiring in December 2025. If you are interested in serving as an LRC Board Member, please complete the application and return to Jennifer Yoder. The newly appointed board member will serve a 4-year term (January 2026 - December 2029) and must reside in the USD #416 boundaries.

Louisburg USD 416 participates in a local Blessings in a Backpack program. The program is designed to provide non-perishable food every Friday to children that would benefit from supplemental nourishment over the weekend. This program is available to all district students/families. The program runs throughout the school year and there is no cost to participate. Distribution will begin the week following labor day in a discreet & caring manner. If you are interested in your child participating in Blessings in a Backpack, please complete this form for each child in your home.

We are excited to offer a night celebrating all the cultures of BES and beyond! Come join us as we explore the mindset We Are Connected!

Families are invited to host a table at this event. The table can include anything from books, flags, toys, candy, food, etc. We want to learn about the traditions and celebrations of your family!

Please take note of our school calendars when planning your family's vacations.

Attendance is a focus at BES and we want your children at school! It can be very difficult for students to get caught up sometimes when they miss for extended periods of time. For example, when a student misses a week of school, that is up to 450 minutes of math instruction they are missing!

If your family does have a trip planned, we do not provide lessons or materials ahead of those trips. Teachers will work with you to schedule times when your student can be given that instruction and guided work time to ensure mastery of skills. This may have to happen before or after school, but we will also try to work during the school day as well.

GREAT school habits now help prepare students for future success!
