Thank You! Thank You!

Thank you, volunteers! All of you, members of all ages, leaders, and parents, for showing up to support the food stand. We understand that working at the 4-H Food Stand may not be everybody's favorite part of fair, but this fundraiser helps raise the money the Wayne County 4-H Program needs to operate while helping members build life skills such as responsibility, team work, and interacting with customers. Working your food stand shift helps provide senior scholarships, partial scholarships for camps or workshops, national event sponsorships, awards, and our program as a whole. We are all in this together!

Food Stand Rules Food Stand Rules

Anna Osten will be the Food Stand manager and Emilie Osten will assist. A big THANK YOU to them for helping again this year! Here are some rules to follow during your shift:

  • New this year: Youth must work their Food Stand shift to qualify for a 2027 Wayne County Fair pass.
  • Parents, leaders and 4-Hers are expected to work. At least one parent is expected to work with their 4-Her.
  • Sanitation is very important! Please be sure to be clean and wear clean clothes.
  • Hands must be washed upon entering the area. Make sure hands are washed frequently or sanitizer is used for your safety. Hats and gloves are required to be worn in the kitchen preparation area. If working in the food prep area, hair must be pulled back.
  • Eating and drinking during work time is NOT allowed. We encourage the clubs to allow periodic breaks for individuals.
  • Dirty dishes must be washed immediately, sanitized, left to air dry and then put away. Assign a crew to wipe down tables and empty the garbage in the eating area. Again, wash hands frequently.
  • The horse arena stand will serve a limited menu. Teenagers or adults are to work in this area. This will only be open Thursday and Sunday.
  • 4-H Screened Volunteers will receive a complimentary food stand voucher in the next mailing.
  • Before your shift ends: 1. Make sure all dishes are clean. 2. Make sure condiments are full. 3. Make sure silverware is full. 4. Take out the garbage. 5. Sweep 4-H Building & seating area/mop Food Stand area. 6. Refill pop coolers and carry in more pop from the truck.
  • Cashiers - Checks will be written for the amount only. No checks for cash. Only adults at the cash register.
