Bus Safety Reminders
🚌 Bus Safety Reminders for Caregivers/Parents
Bus Conduct & Safety at Farley
Riding the bus is a privilege—and an important part of the school day where safety and respect matter most. Bus drivers have a serious responsibility and must be able to focus on driving without distraction. Students are expected to follow all school rules while riding.
At the Bus Stop
-
Arrive at your stop early.
-
Wait safely—no pushing, shoving, or running.
-
Respect the property of others.
-
Wait until the bus has fully stopped before approaching.
On the Bus
-
Sit down promptly and remain seated while the bus is moving.
-
Use inside voices—loud talking or yelling can distract the driver.
-
Keep hands, arms, and belongings inside the bus.
-
Keep the aisles clear and help keep the bus clean.
-
Follow all directions given by the driver or monitor the first time.
Crossing the Street
-
Always cross 10 feet in front of the bus, never behind it.
-
Look both ways and wait for the driver’s signal before crossing.
Consequences for Unexpected Behavior
To ensure student safety, the following steps will be taken when bus conduct concerns arise:
-
First reminder – Think Sheet/Note home.
-
Second warning – Conversation with student and Bus Safety Homework.
-
Third incident – Lunch Detention/Bus Safety Lesson and Family Call.
-
Fourth incident – Bus Suspension and family meeting to develop a Bus Improvement Plan.

Give Back While You Shop
The Paper Store in Hudson has a new location in the Highland Commons plaza and have totally redesigned their store and expanded their offerings. They wanted to celebrate with the HPS School Community and find a way to give back.
All friends and families of Farley will receive a 10% discount on all purchases through the month of November. In addition, they will be donating $5 to Farley H & S for every purchase made between now and November 30. It will cap out at a $5,000 donation and we are really hoping we can make it to that! Please mention the code FARLEY10 at checkout so we get credit for our purchases.
Happy Shopping
