NWEA - MAP Growth Assessment
Students in grades 6 - 8 will be taking the final round of MAP® Growth™ Assessments from NWEA. Reports will be mailed home to families before the end of the school year which provide data on student growth in math and reading as well as identify areas of of strength and opportunities for academic growth.
MAP Growth tests are unique, and adapt to student's responses in order to best measure individual's skill level. If a student answers a question correctly, the next question is more challenging. If they answer incorrectly, the next one is easier. These results provide a complete picture of what each student knows and is ready to learn—whether it is on, above, or below their grade level. Each test (reading and math) takes about an hour. Since MAP Growth tests provide immediate and accurate information about student's learning, it’s easy for teachers to identify students with similar scores that are generally ready for instruction in similar skills and topics, and then plan instruction accordingly.

When entering the wellness pathway, students will use new and interactive technology to enhance their learning by working with heart rate monitors, brand new spin bikes, the iMuscle app, and have access to our updated weight room. While in this pathway, students will work in a dynamic learning environment that will give students an opportunity to comprehend the information in a classroom setting, and then apply that information to hands-on experiences in the gymnasium. Students will be exposed to a variety of career options such as athletic trainers, fitness trainers, first responders (police department, EMT, & Firefighters) nurses, and nutritionists. Upon completion of this pathway, students will become certified in First/Aid, CPR, and AED use.
