Family Star Connection

We've had a wonderful two weeks of school and are really starting to settle into the new school year. This Wednesday, August 26th, is Open House and it is a time when parents and guardians can hear important information about both the school and their child's classroom. While this evening is geared towards adults, please do not let lack of childcare interfere with your ability to attend. If you need to bring your children, we ask that they bring a book to read in the hallway while they wait for the classroom presentations to finish. We hope to see you there!

PreK-2nd grade Open House is 6:00pm-7:00pm.

Hemos tenido dos semanas maravillosas de clases y realmente estamos comenzando a adaptarnos al nuevo año escolar. Este miércoles, 26 de agosto, es la Noche de Regreso a Clases (Open House) y es un momento en el que los padres y tutores pueden recibir información importante tanto sobre la escuela como sobre el salón de clases de su hijo(a).

Aunque esta noche está dirigida a los adultos, por favor no permita que la falta de cuidado infantil interfiera con su posibilidad de asistir. Si necesita traer a sus hijos, les pedimos que traigan un libro para leer en el pasillo mientras esperan que terminen las presentaciones en los salones. ¡Esperamos verlos allí!

La Noche de Regreso a Clases para PreK-2.º grado es de 6:00pm-7:00pm.

We are excited to introduce a new Elementary Family FAQ designed to provide quick answers to many questions that families commonly have throughout the school year. The FAQ includes information on topics such as attendance, arrive and dismissal procedures, lunch, birthdays, visitors, transportation, and more.

Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the FAQ, particularly the following two topics:

• Birthday Celebrations: Food and birthday treats are not permitted. Families may choose to send small, non-food items such as pencils, stickers, bookmarks, or fidgets, but this is completely optional. *Please note that this rule has been in place at Liberty for many years, but it is now consistent across District 300.
• Lunch Visitors: Parents and guardians will no longer be permitted to join students for lunch during the school day.

Nos complace presentar una nueva Guía de Preguntas Frecuentes para las Familias de Escuelas Primarias diseñada para proporcionar respuestas rápidas a muchas de las preguntas que las familias suelen tener durante el año escolar. La guía incluye información sobre temas como asistencia, procedimientos de llegada y salida, almuerzo, cumpleaños, visitantes, transporte y mucho más.

Please abide by these important car rider rules to keep arrival and dismissal safe and efficient:

• At arrival, students should only exit their vehicle on the school side, not the traffic side. We understand that this may mean rearranging car seats or booster seats, so thank you in advance for making adjustments that maximize the safety of your children.
• At dismissal, families may not park the car, walk up to the car rider line, get your children, and then walk their children through the parking lot to the car. If your child is a car rider, you need to go through the car rider line in your vehicle. You must remain in your vehicle.

Por favor, cumpla con estas importantes reglas para los estudiantes que usan el servicio de transporte en automóvil (car rider) para mantener la llegada y la salida seguras y eficientes:

• Durante la llegada, los estudiantes solo deben bajar del vehículo por el lado de la escuela, no por el lado del tráfico. Entendemos que esto puede requerir mover los asientos de seguridad o asientos elevados (booster seats), por lo que agradecemos de antemano que realicen los ajustes necesarios para maximizar la seguridad de sus hijos.
• Durante la salida, las familias no pueden estacionar el automóvil, caminar hasta la fila de car riders, recoger a sus hijos y luego caminar con ellos por el estacionamiento hasta el vehículo. What did you do before you came to Liberty? I taught Pre-k and K at Cambridge Lakes Charter School for 10 years.

Outside of school, I like to: cheer for my kids on the sidelines of a field, court or mat. I also likes to work in my yard.

What did you do before you came to Liberty? I graduated from Illinois State University and student taught at Tri-Valley Middle School, a 4th-8th grade school in Downs, Illinois.

Outside of school, I like to: paint, draw, go on walks, do yoga, and spend time with my family and friends.
