As another school year comes to a close, we want to thank all of the educators, administrators, and support staff who make a difference for students every day. Throughout the year, we have partnered with a multitude of schools and districts across Erie, Huron, and Lorain counties, providing coaching, professional learning, data support, and technical assistance to help strengthen outcomes for students and optimize your impact.

We hope this newsletter provides a helpful look at the work happening across our region. Congratulations on a successful school year, and we wish you a relaxing, restful, and well-deserved summer break. We look forward to partnering with you again in the fall!

Summer Opportunity for Students with Disabilities: CareerTech X Event

June 8-11 Co-sponsored by Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) & Lorain County JVS

Career Tech X will run June 8–11, from 9 AM to 1 PM, at Lorain County JVS in Oberlin. It will offer participating students a chance to test-drive potential careers before the school year starts, giving them meaningful exposure to high-demand career pathways while helping them build confidence, teamwork skills, and a sense of what jobs in the real world actually look like.

The Lorain County Joint Vocational School’s hands-on career exploration program is open to students 14 and older who have a documented disability and an open case with Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities. By partnering with OOD, the program helps connect students to resources and pathways that can continue well beyond the four-day event.

Families and students interested in learning more are encouraged to contact Michelle McClintic - Supervisor at Lorain County JVS - MMcClintic@lcjvs.net.
