From Mrs. Warren

We made it through another fast four day week and are looking forward to a full week ahead. I anticipate some tuckered out Tigers (students and teachers) come Friday. I want to thank you for your patience as we are ironing out the details of this new school year. We are always aiming to improve our practices to better serve our students and families. Trial and error is certainly apart of forward growth.

This week we have both a PTO and Title Meeting scheduled for Thursday evening. Title meeting begins at 5:30 followed by PTO at 6:00. I encourage you to attend. You are a vital component to the success of our students and this district. We want you to be informed and feel valued and welcomed here at Smithton.

If you are in need of order forms for any of the things posted below, please just reach out and we can send those home with your kiddo!

REMINDER: NO BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB MONDAY SEPT. 11TH REMINDER: NO BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB MONDAY SEPT. 11TH

Please contact the Elementary office prior to 2:15 tomorrow to make changes for your child if they regularly attend B & G Club on Mondays. Email beydlerl@smithton.k12.mo.us or call 660-343-5316.

A few house keeping Items:

  • We are still missing enrollments. New emails have been sent, please complete those forms at your earliest convenience. If you need assistance we are happy to help in the elementary office.
  • If you are not receiving text notifications from the school, please be patient as we are still navigating the new student information system.
  • Car riders have been provided with a yellow name tag to be placed on the passenger side dash board during dismissal. If you did not receive this paper please let your child's teacher know. This helps us move pick up along quickly.

A tidbit of PBIS

PBIS is our district wide behavior framework that is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students' behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. Our building expectations are for our Smithton Tigers to be respectful, responsible, safe, learners. We have a matrix outlining our expectations in our building and on our campus. We use a flow chart as a guide in addressing unwanted choices within our school. But our first goal is to build strong secure relationships with our students. Keep an eye out in the weeks to come for more specific insight into the PBIS system.
