"Do A Job"
APRIL 17, 2026
It's the Final Countdown!! And I don’t mean the 1986 rock hit from the band Europe. I mean for our seniors. The class of 2026 has just 20 days left of school. In that time, they still have plenty of work to do, and I would encourage seniors and their parents to stay connected to our communications via announcements, bulletins, and flyers, to name a few formats we are putting out with important information. Some of those events with dates and times are included in this bulletin. Seniors, enjoy this last month of what has been a 13+ year quest for you to get to this point.
I hope your spring break was enjoyable and you had some family time, fun, and relaxation. The storm this week interrupted our testing schedule, and juniors still have 2 days of testing to complete, which will happen on Tuesday, the 21st, and Thursday, the 23rd. All other students will follow the regular schedule on those days.
Despite the rain and standing water on the course, our DK Varsity Golf Team hosted a strong field of 12 teams in the annual DK Kent Enyart Invitational at Mullenhurst. Our guys finished in 2nd place, just 4 strokes behind state power Calvin Christian. Grady Matteson shot 75, Jason Marshall a 79, Carter Brickley 80, and Tyler Howlad 82 to lead the Panthers.
All of our spring sports teams are going to be packed with games, as this rain has caused a handful of cancellations that now get booked into the few open dates we have on the schedules. Most days, we will have a team competing somewhere for the next month.
Congratulations to both our boys' and girls' varsity basketball teams on earning All-State Academic Honors. This is a great example of the STUDENT-athlete focus we want our kids to have. Way to DO A JOB DK Ballers and coaches!!!
It is exciting to see some visible bond work with the Agricultural Science Barn and the Panther Team building at the track/soccer/football complex begin construction. June 8 is the demolition date of the old press box, and there might be signs of the new one taking shape before we leave for the summer. Great things are happening, and our kids are the winners of the community's generosity, with the support of the bond. Once again, thank you for that support.
This week’s Hogie’s Heroes are our FFA students who are leading a clothing drive for those in need. Many of them will also participate in a highway roadside cleanup on Saturday morning. Thanks to all of you who are helping, and a special shout-out to Ms. Hebenstreit, who packs opportunities for growth, service, and leadership into her FFA program for our kids.

Students (L to R) Anna Ferguson, Emma Gay, Mikalah Freiberg, and Rhiannon Richards judged 6 different classes of horses and had to provide oral reasons for their placements of the horses. Students placed 13th out of 20 teams. Congratulations to our DK FFA Horse Judging Students!
