Registration Communication - Please Read Registration Communication - Please Read

Dear Mountain View High School Families,

As we approach the student course request process for the 2025-2026, we want to take a moment to connect with you about this important time. Choosing the right courses encompasses many aspects of a student’s high school experience. At MVHS, we cannot emphasize enough the importance of students selecting courses that not only fulfill their graduation requirements but also align with students’ post-secondary plans, personal interests, and long-term goals.

At Mountain View High School, we are proud to offer a diverse range of career pathways and advanced academic courses designed to inspire and prepare our students for both college and their future careers. We encourage students to select courses that resonate with their passions and help them build confidence in their skills. If your student has questions about these pathways, our dedicated counselors are here to support them with additional resources and guidance.

This year, we are excited to introduce a new scheduling process aimed at ensuring that students are placed in the most suitable math and science courses to meet their graduation needs and career goals. Our course progression guides will help steer this process. Students have already had the chance to review their class recommendations and engage in meaningful conversations with their teachers to ensure their selections align with their aspirations. If you feel a change in placement is necessary, students can pick up a course override form in Indian Peaks, which will be due on March 14th.

We have also put in place a new scheduling process to help ensure that students are placed in the most appropriate math and science courses for both their graduation needs and their career aspirations. This new process is being guided by our newly developed course progression guides. Students have already reviewed their class recommendations and engaged in one-on-one conversations with their teachers to confirm that their course selections support their goals. If families wish to request a change in placement from what your student has discussed with their teacher, students may pick up a course override form in Indian Peaks. These forms are due on March 14th.

Student registration materials have been distributed to students through their ELO classes. These materials include a registration form as well as a 4-year academic planner. Your student should be bringing these materials home for you to review with you prior to finalizing their requests next week with their counselors. We encourage you to go over these selections with your students to help them guide them in their decision making.

We also want to share some updates regarding our schedule change procedures for the upcoming school year. The master schedule at MVHS is built around the courses that students request, and once it is completed, making changes can be quite challenging. To ensure we can support all students effectively, schedule change requests will be prioritized based on the following criteria:

  • When a class is needed for graduation

  • When there is a gap in the current schedule

  • When a course has already been completed

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we strive to provide the best possible educational experience for all students. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.

School Fees Picture
zoom_out_map

Your student's class fees and sports/activities fees must be paid in full before graduation for them to be able to participate in the graduation ceremony.

Payments can be made online through your parent portal at your discretion. Please note that if you have fees from previous years, you will need to click the year drop down box in the portal for each year that you show fees to add them to your cart. You can also send in cash/check payments to the bookkeeping office of MVHS. If your students have qualified for the free/reduced lunch and you still are seeing fees, please email me the approval letter you received from Nutrition Services so those fees can be adjusted. Please reach out to me by phone/email if you come across any fees that are on your student's portal that are incorrect or for classes they did not take. We look forward to celebrating with you all at graduation!
