Remote Learning Process Update
Dear Global Impact Academy Parents and Students,
To better align with Fulton County Schools procedures and improve our ability to verify student participation and completion of required coursework, Global Impact Academy has updated the Participating Remotely (PR) process.
The eligibility requirements for remote learning days have not changed.
The request and verification process has been revised to ensure that students receive attendance credit only after all requirements have been met.
How to Request a Remote Learning Day
Step 1: Submit the Online Remote Learning Request Form
- A parent/guardian must complete the Remote Learning Request Form (Microsoft Form).
- Requests must be submitted before the remote learning day.
- Same-day requests will not be approved.
Step 2: Complete the Remote Day Verification Form
- Students must complete a Remote Day Verification Form.
- Forms may be downloaded and printed or obtained from the Counseling Suite.
- Students must complete and submit all assigned work within two school days of the absence.
Upon returning to school, STUDENTS must obtain teacher signatures verifying that coursework was completed.
- The completed Verification Form must be returned to Patricia White for review.
Important Information
⚠️ Submission of the online request form alone does not guarantee approval.
⚠️ Students will not receive Participating Remotely (PR) attendance credit unless the completed Verification Form, including teacher signatures, is submitted and reviewed.
This process allows the school to verify that all required assignments were completed before attendance is changed to a PR day.
🚫 A Remote Learning Day May Not Be Used If:
- The request is submitted on the same day as the absence.
- The student is scheduled to take a test or summative assessment.
- The student is out of the country.
- Teachers have not been notified in advance of the absence.
- Required assignments are not completed and submitted within two school days of the absence.
- The completed Remote Day Verification Form with teacher signatures is not returned.
✅ Additional Requirements
Students may request up to five (5) remote learning days per semester.
To receive attendance credit, students must:
✔ Participate in at least 50% of the instructional day.
through Asynchronous learning as directed by their teachers.
✔ Meet all assignment completion and documentation requirements.
