Dear Booker T. Washington Families,
We have officially reached the start of Quarter 2, and we couldn’t be more proud of all that our students accomplished during the first quarter! From growing as readers, mathematicians, scientists, and leaders, to showing kindness and responsibility each day, our Eagles have truly taken flight.
Quarter 2 is a fresh start and a perfect time to reset, refocus, and recommit to our goals. As we move forward, we are emphasizing our schoolwide expectations of being Safe, Organized, Accountable, and Respectful in every space—classrooms, hallways, lunchroom, and recess.
Here’s how you can help your child soar this quarter:
-
Establish a daily routine for homework, reading, and bedtime.
-
Talk with your child about what responsibility looks like at school and at home.
-
Celebrate effort and progress, not just grades—every step forward matters!
-
Stay connected by checking folders, ClassDojo, and school communications regularly.
We are excited to build on our momentum and continue creating a safe, joyful, and engaging learning environment for every student. Together, we’ll make Quarter 2 our best one yet!
Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our Eagles.

Book Character Parade
On Friday, October 31, we are celebrating our love of reading with a school-wide character parade! Students may dress up as their favorite character from a book they've read and carry the book (or a printed cover) during the parade.
Costumes should meet the following guidelines:
- Costumes must be directly related to the book/book cover they are carrying.
- students must carry the book/printed book cover during the parade
- no masks, no weapons, no scary costumes
Families are invited to come and watch the parade . We will begin promptly at 1:30.
More details about the logistics will be in next week's update.

PBIS
🏫 PBIS Character Trait of the Month: Responsibility
🌟 Goal
To recognize and encourage students who consistently show responsibility in their learning, behavior, and relationships—helping build a positive, accountable school culture.
Responsibility Means:
-
Doing what is expected—without reminders
-
Owning your actions and choices
-
Taking care of your materials, space, and community
-
Completing tasks on time and doing your best
-
Being trustworthy and dependable
In order for this to have the intended impact, we much tell students what we expect and teach them what it looks like. Please join us in emphasizing the importance of being responsible at school and home.
