NEW BPS Device Protection Program
September 23, 2026
Dear Parent or Guardian,
There’s Still Time to Participate! Families of middle and high school students who haven’t yet opted in to the voluntary device protection program for their student’s school-issued Chromebook or iPad, or submitted a waiver, still have time to make their selection. We encourage families who have not yet made a selection to take a moment to review their options and complete the process.
The program is intended to minimize delays in repairing or replacing devices so that students continue to have the technology they need for learning. For $50 per student, enrolled families receive $0-deductible coverage for damage, theft, loss, and hardware or battery failure. Families who do not enroll will be invoiced for each repair or replacement, with costs ranging from $50 to $420; outside or individually purchased insurance plans will no longer be accepted in place of the district program. (If families bought multi-year plans, these will be honored.)
Families may enroll or confidentially request a fee waiver through the enrollment link or QR code, and waivers are automatically processed for families using qualifying state services or MassHealth. Please visit NEW BPS Device Protection Program to sign-up or apply for a waiver.
The BPS Technology Department will handle all repairs and replacements directly, helping ensure that students have continued access to a working device tech_support@bedfordps.org
Questions may be directed to your school’s main office or emailed to FeePayments_Waivers@bedfordps.org.
