No School on September 2nd, its Labor Day!
Edison family,
As we move forward in our school year, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your continued support and involvement. Our students are thriving, and it's clear that the strong partnership between home and school is making a positive difference.
In the words of Mr. Rogers, “There are three ways to ultimate success: The first way is to be kind. The second way is to be kind. The third way is to be kind.” Let’s continue to nurture kindness in our community as we work together to create the best possible environment for our children.
Thank you for being an essential part of our Edison Elementary family. I look forward to all the wonderful moments we’ll share as the year progresses.
PTO Fundraiser: Please support our PTO, they provide us with many amazing things for our students and staff. In addition, they will help fun our field trips this year. What do you need to do? Contact your kiddos teacher and ask them how you can participate in the PTO, and check your kiddo's back pack for flyers, etc...
Edison Library Information:
-Beginning after Sept 2 the First graders will be checking out library books to bring home. They are allowed one book, and they will need to bring it back to the library at their next visit in order to check out a different book. Please help your student learn to take good care of the library book they borrow!
I would also like to ask for parent volunteers to shelve library books. If you are interested in volunteering you will have to go to the administration building to complete the volunteer background check.
Arrival and Dismissal Times: School starts at 7:25 and pickup time is 3:30, please be on time. If your students will be having breakfast than please have them here by 7:00 am. Thank you,
Homework Reminder: I want to take this opportunity to encourage all parents to support their children with their homework. Your involvement in your child's education plays a crucial role in their academic success. By working together, we can ensure that our students are reaching their full potential.
Parental Involvement: Research consistently shows that students perform better in school when their parents are actively involved in their education. I am proud to share that our school has seen a significant increase in parental engagement over the past year. Let's keep up this positive momentum as we work together to support our children's learning journey.
Summer School Update: I must inform you that there will not be summer school offered this year for attendance recovery. Therefore, it is imperative that your student attend school on time each and every day unless they are sick.
New school policy: Parents, we will not allow early pick up of students after 3pm, including Doctors appointments, etc...
Tardies: Tardies will start this Monday, any student that arrives after 7:35 will be considered tardy. Please know that excessive tardies could result in a meeting with campus administration.
Thank you, and have a blessed week!

Only the top 5.5 percent of districts in the state, including GISD, earned the honor this year.
The Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) announced the 94 winners of the 2024 District of Distinction Award. Among the list of honorees is Gainesville ISD. The districts received the honor for providing a well-rounded education that advocates and integrates visual arts curriculum to inspire creativity and build social emotional learning that connect learners to their community and beyond.
