Nauset Regional Middle School ROCKS
A Weekly Update from NRMS - March 27 2026
Updates From The Principal
Hello NRMS Families,
If you have attended a tour or the open house or an event where you have heard me speak to parents and guardians, you have listened to me make strong recommendations to delay providing your child with a smart phone and access to social media apps until they are in high school. This week I would like to reiterate that recommendation. This week, social media companies were found guilty of providing products to children that are addictive. We see evidence of this addiction at the middle school. While we have been successful this year with our requirement that students keep their phones locked in a locker and powered off, you can see students immediately on their phones as soon as the clock reads 2:45pm.
As I get older, my ability to stay up to date on all of the tricks and strategies students use to access apps and hide photos becomes more and more challenging. This week I discovered that students can easily hide apps and photos on their phone. So, when I recommend that parents and guardians have full access to your child's phone if you have provided them with one, here is some additional information. When you check your child's phone, be sure to check the hidden photos and videos. If you are like me, you will need to Google how to do this. You should also search for hidden apps - again Google how to do this. This is one way that students that claim they are not on Tik Tok or Snapchat actually are accessing these harmful platforms. Please hold off on providing your child with a smart phone. If your child already has a phone, please turn on all possible child protection features and prevent your child from accessing social media apps. And please, regularly search your child's phone for hidden photos and apps. Together we can delay access to phones and social media and we will see improved focus, improved academic performance, improved eye contact, improved engagement, and an overall safer, healthier learning environment for all. Thank you for your partnership on this.
Flu season is at a peak in the state. Please read the recent notice from our school nurses regarding the Flu here. Please incorporate the following practices to limit the spread of illness:
1. Stay Home When Sick
Stay home when sick and return only when fever-free for 24 hours without medication.
2. Hygiene and Environment
Wash hands frequently with soap and water.
Use hand sanitizer when handwashing is not available.
Cover coughs and sneezes.
Avoid touching the face, especially the eyes, nose, and mouth.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
3. Wellness
Get adequate rest, stay hydrated, and maintain a healthy diet.
Flu vaccination remains available and can still be helpful later in the season for those who choose to receive it.
With the Major League Baseball season starting and the month of April here next week, warmer temperatures and healthier students are just around the corner. Enjoy the weekend and think Spring!

Nauset Athletics Boosters Club
Nauset Middle School Families,
We are excited to share that the Nauset Middle School chapter of the Nauset Athletics Boosters Club is getting started, and we are looking for parent volunteers to join us!
Our goal is to support and enhance the athletic experience for all students by helping to fundraise and assist with some of our staple events, including the Cross Country All Cape Meet and Basketball “Pack the Gym” Nights. These events are a great way to build school spirit and create memorable experiences for our student-athletes.
We invite you to get involved and be part of this important work. Our first meeting will be held virtually on:
Wednesday, April 15th at 6:00 PM
Please join us using the following link:
