Has your student asked you to be a Watch D.O.G. but you’re not quite sure what that means? Curious about the dads helping at drop-off and dismissal?

Come to our Watch D.O.G. Q&A to learn what the hype is about, and how simple it is to make a big impact for your student!

We invite you to take a journey around the world as we celebrate the rich & diverse cultures that make our Ogle Ohana so special!

We need YOUR help to make this night amazing! We’re inviting families to represent their culture at the event and will provide a table in the cafeteria for you to showcase your culture in any way you’d like:

🎶 Music, clothing, art, and more

You don’t need to represent a country to be part of the fun! Even if you’re unable to host a table, we truly hope you’ll still make plans to join us and enjoy a night of community, culture, and connection.

Join us on Tuesday, January 27th, from 3:00–10:00 PM for a delicious way to support Ogle! Dine in or take out at the Texas Roadhouse McKinney location, and 10% of your total food purchase will be donated back to Ogle. A flyer will be sent home in January 22nd take-home folders. Please present the flyer when you order. It’s an easy (and tasty!) way to give back—thank you for supporting our school community!

The wait is over! We’ll be having the first Popcorn Friday of 2026 on January 30th, and we can’t wait to see all the smiling, popcorn-loving faces.

Get ready to step back in time for a 50s-themed Sock Hop Night that’s fun for the whole family! Break out your poodle skirts, leather jackets, and saddle shoes!

Enjoy an evening filled with music, dancing, activities, photo opportunities, food, and a silent auction you won’t want to miss. It’s sure to be a night of fun, laughter, and school spirit!

Families will have the option to pre-order dinner ahead of the big night. More details will be shared in the coming weeks—stay tuned!

🎁 Silent Auction Donations Needed
As part of the Sock Hop fun, we’ll be hosting a silent auction, and we’d love your help! Families are invited to donate a basket of favorite items, or coordinate a donation from a business you own, work with, or frequent.

Ogle, YOU made it happen! Thanks to our incredible community, we hit our $15,000 fundraising goal, and the whole school enjoyed the unforgettable sight of Mr. McCarty getting buckets of slime poured on him! It was a huge celebration with tons of laughs and definitely one of the standout moments of 2025! Thank you for your generosity and school spirit!

Our annual Teacher Cookie Exchange was a sweet success! Thanks to the generosity of our Ohana, our teachers & staff were treated to a spread of cookies that truly made the season brighter. We are so grateful to everyone who signed up, baked, shopped, and sent in goodies to help make this festive tradition so special. Your kindness & support helped us share a little extra joy with the educators who do so much for our school community!

This month, Ogle Elementary is proud to recognize Lauren Harris, mom of Sam in 4th grade, as our Volunteer of the Month.

Lauren has gone above and beyond since the very beginning of the school year in her role as Room Mom Coordinator. She has worked tirelessly to organize room moms, maintain clear and consistent communication, and ensure everything runs smoothly for our teachers and students.

In addition to that, Lauren generously volunteered her time at the Book Fair nearly every day, helped with Popcorn Fridays, and continually steps up wherever help is needed. Her dedication, reliability, and positive attitude make a tremendous difference in our school community.

We are incredibly grateful for Lauren and her willingness to always lend a hand—no matter the task!

Frisco ISD requires all volunteers to complete a background check each school year. You’ll be prompted during your Voly account setup, and approval usually takes 3–5 business days (watch your inbox for confirmation).

• Start by completing the online background check through Voly. A new background check must be completed each school year as required by Frisco ISD.
• Next, fill out our Ogle PTA Volunteer Interest Form
• Then, log into Voly to view and sign up for opportunities below.

• Silent Auction Committee: This team helps plan & organize our Spring fundraising event. Committee members will help collect donations, create auction baskets, reach out to local businesses, and promote the event. If you love planning, connecting with the community, or just want to lend a hand, we’d love to have you on the team!
• Popcorn Friday Volunteers: Lend a hand by helping pop, fill, and distribute bags of popcorn!
• Work Room Volunteers: Supporting our teachers by helping with lamination, cutting, sorting, stapling, etc. *All materials provided and younger siblings are welcome to join*
• Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students): Spend the day on campus volunteering with your student & helping in your child's classroom (any male figure (or female!)) Interested in joining the Watch D.O.G.S. program or want more information? Email Don Bailey, our Watch D.O.G. coordinator, at watchDOGS@ogleelempta.org.
• Mav Money Store: Help us run the Mav Money store during lunches where kids get to spend their hard earned Mav Money for prizes.
• Mystery Readers (TBD): Calling all Kinder parents! Sign up to be a mystery reader for your kiddo's classroom!
• Library Volunteers (TBD): Assist Mrs. Harkrider by checking books, labeling, organizing, and restocking shelves.
