A Note from Mrs. Mathe
As we wrap up this week, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our parents who volunteered, donated, or attended one of our events! Your support helped make this week truly memorable for our students and staff. We are so grateful for all that you do!
The holiday season is such a special time of year....a time to slow down, enjoy the people we love, and reflect on all the joys around us. While we will certainly miss our students over the winter break, I’m looking forward to a little time to rest, spend time with family, and dive into some of my favorite hobbies like baking!
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season filled with warmth, laughter, and special moments with your loved ones.
Thank you to our amazing families for your generosity during our food drive supporting the Montgomery County Food Bank! Together, we donated 1,330 items and 1308 lbs to help our community. Congratulations to 2nd grade for collecting the most donations!
Little Library is Moving
We’re excited to share that the Little Library located on the bus ramp is being relocated to the Pirate Ship Park over the Winter break, where it will continue to inspire a love of reading for our students and families.
A huge thank you to Toll Brothers for sponsoring the Little Library and for generously giving it a fresh facelift as part of the move. Their support has helped create a welcoming, refreshed space that our community can continue to enjoy.
We invite families to stop by the Pirate Ship Park, take and/or leave a book or two!

Student Spotlight
We are excited to introduce a new section in The Hines Herald called Student Spotlight! This feature will celebrate the amazing achievements, acts of kindness, and positive contributions of our Huskies both inside and outside of school. In this section, we will highlight students who have gone above and beyond—whether it’s reaching a personal goal, helping others, or making a difference in the community. We can’t wait to share these inspiring stories and honor the incredible ways our students shine!
Blake Vela
This past weekend, Blake had an exciting opportunity to shine as a Houston Texans Junior Cheerleader during the Texans vs. Cardinals game! After more than a month of practicing and rehearsing alongside the Texans cheer squad, Blake danced on the field before the game on a very big stage.
We are so proud of Blake’s hard work, dedication, and courage to try something new. Way to represent Hines with confidence and spirit!
