Academy Announcements
Dear Academy Families and Friends,
It's hard to believe March is here. There is certainly a shift in the air and signs of spring are starting to show here and there. This is a busy month with MCAS beginning at the end of the month for students in Grades 3-5. Here are a few things happening around Academy and the district:
- The AAPC are happy to launch the Read Across Academy program. Click here for more info on how to get your child in the competition. There are prizes as well as the best incentive of all...the gift of Reading!!!
- Please see the following flyer regarding Kindergarten Registration for our incoming K classes.
- K Report Cards were released online before the February break in the Aspen Family Portal, click here for a reminder of how to sign up.
- Len Cabral will be here on March 11 for two special shows with our students. He is an amazing storyteller.
- The third graders have taken over the morning announcements starting with Mrs. Dias's class. They've been doing an amazing job!
- Second Step is our SEL platform we use with the students. This week many classes talked about empathy and how we show care and compassion for our classmates our staff, our families and our community as a culture of care.
- Our Second Grade Classes visited the WHS Planetarium this past week! GRade 1 will be going in May!
- We want to welcome Ms. Tobin, who will be joining Ms. Louzan and will be working with some of our ELL students.
- Also we would like to give a warm welcome to Jenn Cato who is our new site supervisor of our before and after school Champions program.
- Ramadan Mubarak to all of our families observing Ramadan from February 28-March 30.
Bring on the Spring! Be sure to check the list of important dates as the number of activities and events. They tend to pop up like the flowers do!
