Join us for a book study in which we will read and discuss Developing Digital Detectives: Essential Lessons for Discerning Fact from Fiction in the "Fake News" Era by Jennifer LaGarde and Darren Hudgins. This book will help school librarians and other educators update their media literacy toolbox with fresh new lessons and ideas for teaching important media literacy skills in this era of constant media infiltration.

This in person workshop is designed for librarians to build their skills in curriculum development as applied to school library programs. Participants will use the Empire State Information Fluency Continuum with NYSED Next Generation content area standards to design a yearly curriculum for their library program using an Understanding by Design (UbD) approach.
