Spring Forward
BWMS Community,
Yep, everyone's favorite comes this weekend - Spring Forward. Although I am sure that all of us wish we were not losing the extra sleep, we will welcome the extra daylight in the evening.
With March, best wishes to our high school basketball teams as they continue in tournament madness. Finally, we do have an Eagles Night Tonight from 6PM-8PM sponsored by our Student Council. Enjoy the weekend!

School Updates
- The next BWMS What I Need (WIN) Day is Friday 3/7/25. Ask your student how it went.
- The next BWMS Eagles Night sponsored by our Student Council is Tonight Friday 3/7/25 from 6PM-8PM. Cost is $5 at the door.
- Attention 6th grade families - payment for outdoor camp at Camp Nuhop is due today Friday 3/7/25. See additional details below.
- Reminder - Daylight savings time begins on Sunday 3/9/25.
- Builders Club is running an Advisory Competition Hygiene Drive. See the details below.
- 8th grade classes will have a modified schedule in the afternoon on Tuesday 3/11/25 due to the Humanities/Holocaust presentation for 8th grade students. We are happy to host Cindy Ebner, daughter of Holocaust Survivor Murray Ebner, as they share stories with us about resilience, remembrance, and positive responses.
- Scheduling sheets for next school year will be sent home with 6th and 7th grade students on Wednesday 3/12/25 to communicate to families the course requests for next year. Stay tuned for more information.
- The end of the 3rd Quarter is Friday 3/14/25.
- 7th Grade students received an informational sheet / opt out form for Healthy Life Choices Programming to be delivered by MS Wellness Teacher, Dr. Keating, on Monday 3/17/25 and Tuesday 3/18/25. Students will attend out of 7th grade science classes. Please find the form here. If your student is enrolled in or has taken 7th grade Wellness already, they will not need to participate in the program and will be provided an extension activity in science. Please note that you can sign and return the opt out form to the office or email JoshFrame@bwls.net if this is your family decision.
- Spirit Week is coming the week of 3/17/25. See the details below
- Student council is planning the Staff vs Student Basketball Game and Spring Sports Recognition Pep Rally for Friday 3/21/25.
- Spring Break is 3/24/25 through 3/28/25. Students return to school on Monday 3/31/25.
6th Grade Outdoor Education Reminders
Payment:
$130 total for 2 extended days due by March 7th
Pay online via PaySchools Central (preferred), cash, or check to Big Walnut Schools
No payments accepted after March 7
Please note for this Pay Schools Central Option: For all 6th graders, it will be listed as an optional payment for Camp Nuhop of $130.00. You can change the amount to pay in that field to make partial payments if needed. If you pay in full, it will disappear on your account. If you make a partial payment, the balance will remain.
